I Will Be With You Soon

The twilight drifts like a silver swan,
And soft winds hush the weary day.
I linger where the shadows run,
Dreaming of you though far away.

The river hums its lullaby,
A whisper through the trembling grass;
The quiet stars have filled the sky,
And time like water seems to pass.

I feel your heart across the miles,
It beats in mine, a tender tune.
The night is deep with secret smiles—
I will be with you soon.

The flowers fold their hands to rest,
The moon leans low to kiss my breast.
All nature yearns, as if possessed
By the same sweet sigh the ache in me.

Stay where you are, my love, my moon—
I will be with you soon.

Premium Member We Liked Tailor Very Much

Tailor had a circuit, he arrived three times a year to sew us up
He used to have a cat, a fish, a dog, a wife and a pup
The wife got tired of the traveling and took the pets to settle down
She was fed up with the hassle of always moving town to town.

Tailor loved his life, and did not much miss his wife.
She had been a harpy, grousing most of their married life.
But he did miss the dog and the cat, and especially the fish.
To get a new pet was his fervent wish.

Tailor brought along his sewing machine, materials, zippers and such.
The people in my town liked him more than a little, actually, very much.
We took up a collection and bought him an orangutan to travel with.
He made him a three-piece suit, and named him Little Kith.

Curmudgeons Have Nothing Very Much Also

Stars,
what can you say about them
- not a lot.
The slightest bit of cloud cover
and they’re gone.

Butterflies…
folks got a lot of things to say
about butterflies
 - not me though
(bug splat on a rainbow),
the whole darn world is fluttering-by,
and butter has yet learned to fly.

Romance and moonshine
are like the stars,
they’re not reliable in daylight,
unless we are discussing
high octane spirit in a jar
or our deep and abiding
love for classic cars.

If you tie
stars,
romance,
moonshine
and butterflies all together
into a fairytale posy
apparently,
you are what some may refer to as a ‘poet’,
and what can you say about that?

Nothing.

Not Really Very Much

What do people really need
To live a life that’s guaranteed
To let them blossom and succeed?
Not really very much.

A home they like and clothes to wear,
Some friends and family who care,
A job or craft with time to spare
And Nature’s gentle touch.

If all the basic needs are met,
With war or sickness not a threat,
There shouldn’t be a cause to fret,
Yet most require a crutch.

Premium Member Thank You Very Much

So many take all things for granted
it doesn't take much just to say
with a smile thank you very much
even when feeling like blobs of clay

All the basic necessities of life
this we have fully in abundance
so much of the world hasn't got
this be seen just taking a glance

I am so thankful for all I've got
a loving wife, a house to call home
food aplenty, retirement to enjoy
the joy to read and write a poem

Enjoy nature all around on many walks
have ears to listen to music so pure
to believe in God and His salvation
receive His son as saviour to be sure

I can truly smile full and free
tell Jesus thank you very much
for all the blessings I've received
to eternally feel His tender touch

( Looking back on my old writing, I thought this needed a fresh airing, hope it encourages those that read it.)

The power within you is unique
if you are true to yourself
   Today closer to fine
   Navigating your inner self
   changing landscapes
shadow pages and the imprint of the past
   fear fake investors
The word had a different meaning
   than expected
   Today closer to fine

   It is possible
to rise again after a fall
   Today closer to fine
   Trauma and mental disorders
   let go of your expectations
   hidden patterns and habits
One step forward and two to the side
move slowly and regularly from side to side
Nobody cares if you can't dance well
   Reward yourself with positive affirmations
   Today closer to fine

Five fingers of joy
slyly, coyly burgles; he's
absconding with koi.
As you like it, as you wish;
carpe carpum: seize the fish!

Premium Member Thanks So Very Much

Thanks so very much, oh kind soul
Heart oozes gratitude
Vibrations of love, make us whole
Joy suffused, now our mood

As we hark to love’s call
With ego play not ball
Manifests, a bliss squall

Love’s the healing touch
Thanks so very much

Premium Member How Very Much I Do Despise

How very much I do despise,
The tyranny of fear and lies.
That throws us at each others throats.
Like rabid, heartless billy-goats.

A stench-filled world, where morality
no longer exists.
The only things honored are thugs
and fists.

Where you are censored, if you do not
follow the crowd.
With their hooves they will stomp you,
If you dare sing your own song

Where jackasses on TV, bray everyday.
Filling our hearts with hopeless, idiotic dismay.

Threats against all freedoms are du jour.
As mindless billy goats do cheer and concur.

Idiotic mandates are freedom's foe.
From a mindless loon in the White House, an
unintelligible schmoe, named Joe?

Premium Member Longing Very Much So

Longing, very much so

Lay in dreams
Touched by her ecstasy
Wildly, passionately
To fall -
Into dreams

With desires filled
Pleasures
With that special someone
To awake to

I’m awake and longing

Like Him Very Much

I have a crush and
I like him very much...and
He tells me what I like to hear and
With this crush I persevere.
Bringing hope with much desire,
I like this one; the new admirer.
This new found crush who makes me smile,
Attracts me for he's versatile.
More superior than he makes out to be,
Surpassing others exceedingly.
For I am free when he has me,
I like my crush.

Know That We Love God Very Much

Know That We Love God Very Much

God knows what we need and how much,
So with Him should always stay in touch,
And each day,
Prayers do say,
Knowing that we do love Him very much.

Jim Horn

I Am Very Much Perturbed

Kids are their game for bargain
Innocence they rape for freedom
They are the men of honor of today
Are we not ashamed of our lives?

Men of intellect ,rise
keep your dreams aside
Dip your quills in the right
Keep a gun at your left
March thru bullets and missiles
Bring peace to the world
Lest our children die
Immature deaths

Know you be their parent with a will
And a love bound promise to keep
They have shed the innocent blood
The darkest stain on man kind ever

Men of intellect ,rise
Fasten your girdle to march on
There is a war on angels
For the dove of peace is bleeding
The life giving blood is wasted
The more we wait the more we die

Honor has only one death
Death for a cause and death for love
Love your enemy if enemy you know
hate the enemy if they act as friends
for love penetrates not on covetous hearts
for love wasted is the biggest sin.
