I have often wondered if they blundered
or if there's any truth to the advertising
within the words written on me
a simple clothing label advising
a promise a guarantee
100% Cotton
but does it refer to the garment or myself
the mere material it is printed on
a paradox perhaps
all of which goes to show
it's a dilemma the answer to which
this enquiring

Melodies, breathless as foggiest daybreak
healing all my heart’s restlessness 
releasing the song, pure as the gentlest stream
washing away the distance
between happiness and pain,
correcting the silence so beautiful reigns
cleansing the darkness with the hope
from a glistening star, a moonlit autumn
the wonder of winter’s thoughts
blessings so alive, they tremble with delight
measuring the cries of a purpose
between knowing

came to a shuddering stop when meeting a moose
the moose charged the horse fled deeper into the woods were 
the horse met a troll who took the animal into a cave and

They gather about you
a clambering canaille
of fawning faces
Drunk on the illusion
of what they want
you to be
believe you to be
The superficiality
of contemporality
The fame eclipsing
the art

I stand distanced
from that fickle flock
Unacknowledged
Unnoticed
Unseen

It’s the truth of you
which I seek
The deeper spaces
Hidden away places
The flame that gives
life to the words
from a pen
Births princes, monsters
gods and mere men
Imbuing fantasy
with veracity
Is it

Virile Veracity

Sacred communion,
taken in by mouth
and nose
and ear
and eye
and touch,
compassionately felt in community,

Becomes left-brain anxious about competitive totalitarian communism
while right-brain celebrating cooperative win/win Green Commons
of ancient reproductive health,
bilaterally twinned,
binomially intertwined,
bicamerally belonging

Yet longing not to become entirely ego-absorbed
without remaining cherished interdependent identity,

Part yet whole;
Whole yet apart
holonic
holy 
whole Earth polypathic
polyphonic
polyculturally communal,

Left secularly invincible 
either/or powers of resilient thinking
with

Veracity Returned

Lying to myself…
  the truth swimming free

Escaping prevarication,
  abandoning my schemes

The water got deep,
  its weight dragged and pulled

Till veracity returned
   —resuscitation fulfilled

Can truth exist
  within a vacuum

Can it stand alone
  without listener or teller

Can its words contain value
  left to themselves

Can its verity outlive 
  its many disciples

Can its hope transcend
  all circumstance and change

Can truth given unto itself 
  —exist at all

Veracity is conformity to facts and accurate.

Trump before never possessed any veracity;
His mind and memory have limited capacity;
Lies poor;
Kept score,
And surely was seen without any sagacity.
