Premium Member your courage has uplifted me

you might be a pansy,
but there is nothing wimpy or simple about you
Your resistance to the elements has us cheering

Some nights I want to cover you with a bucket
to give you a bit of warmth
but do I remember?

Sadly, I do not.
You thrive in spite of my lack of compassion.
You have enough resilience for the two of us.

When I look outside my window
Seeing your joyful yellow and lush burgundy,
I know the world is going to make it.

You, pansy, have given me hope.
Your courage has uplifted me
and kept me moving forward.

One day, we will have wings to fly and wave goodbye to this sad world.

A vault of vibrant stars shivered
From the canvas of a dark silk night

Brush strokes of the blushing moon melts through clouds
in luminous interlude
across streams of silence

This calm, this resonate serenity,
This hush of contented skies,
This heart transfixed with fond identity,
A night of divinity, as beauty sighs

I am borne again
I am bliss with this realm’s night
forever is mine

Premium Member Promises Uplifted

beyond earnest vows
and doting promises
our love will last
forever and a day
yet all avid promises
are one day shattered
in spite of best intentions

sometimes I hear its thunder
it’s in the quiver of his voice
the shiver of his nightmares
the shudder in his fearful eyes
the feeling of helplessness
over his body convulsing

inevitable visits to the oncologist
vital treatments and aftershock
unsparing reminders we are not immortal

it’s the pain of growing wings
the price to pay for crossing over
till then…
the promises feel real
every day a gift and blessing
a promise is a promise
in this realm or the next

Uplifted By Courage

my heart has come full circle-
in discovering who you are,
i identified myself-
this path gives me HOPE
yet, at times
leaves me desultory

who can I be without you?
           tell me,
what would become of my DREAMS-

i cannot PROSPER wearing a soul
longing to be held through loneliness-
i must see existence through CONFIDENT eyes
not
     v u l n e r a b i l i t y

i shall lather myself in fortitude,
a bold prowess on an ebon night when
depth becomes dark

COURAGEOUS am i-
drowning in an elixir of peace and balance,
my insecurity – ephemeral –
short-lived and disregarded,
(no more am i broken hearted)

i shall be fearless when in solitude,
plethora of BRAVERY resides in my soul
and
i am forever bound to...
                       my UPLIFTING spirit

Umbrella Uplifted, Full of Rain

Dipped my umbrella
Full of your vows and my fears
I skipped across the laketop
Dipped, rinsed them both out,
Had to decide if ‘I do’
I ran off from the altar

And let the sweet lake,
Friend without expectations
Cascade onto my shoulders
And wash out my hair
Wash out my fear of living
Remind me of our dreams, love

I will not be back
I, of the fey, and you, man
The forest grasses my home
I have run away
I, to return to my house
That nests among the flowers

And yet I loved you
Dreamed all our dreams in your arms
And hoped for days together
But I and others
Who whispered of sweet meadows
Called me back! Wherefore, I go!

Uplifted

The smile can be sent
To that lady so old
Who pushes her walker
In spite of the cold
Who heads to the diner
Though slippery the street
And holds to the hope
Some kind people she'll meet.
Or look to that mother
Who reigns the kids in
And single these three years
And no it's no sin
That she should be struggling
The bills and the house
And two jobs both part-time
No thanks to the spouse.
And smile for the young man
So new at his task
And offer kind pointers
If ever he'll ask
He so wants to fit in
And many seem gruff
And yes he has fouled up
The skills often tough.
You see here an ointment
A blessing so dear
And really so simple
And you Friend are here
To offer an uplift
That might change the day
For some who are struggling
In life's fickle way.

Uplifted

edifying with no limit;
praising wand worshiping with no rest,
glory with every blessing,
grace with kindness and humility.
reigning spirit with fresh afire,
loving without getting tired.
never giving up on hoping;
the essence of the holy spirit,
the embodiment of the word of it's promise,
true to the first calling to the end.
grace that strengthens,
truth that empowers.
uplifting that brings us back to the first love:
the love of being a servant,
which moves every heart with no doubt,
that to be uplifted,
you must frist be sympathetic and compassionate,
always giving of yourself.
