There are dreams, unsought dreams, dreams fulfilled;
Why cherry pick - adventure is knocking at the door.

My Dream Within A Dream

they marched back into my life
          was this the afterlife
the family of his wife
this was not his fantasy life
but that was a smile on his wife

to go forth from safe place called home
across ocean’s deep, I did roam
a dream to kick up foam
make a family of our own
be fruitful with seeds sown
          and to grow a backbone
but still I missed my mom and dad
before I had writing pad
     a Navy adventure I had
          unsought dream that I had

putting your hand in God’s hand
hear music, strike up the band
where you put your feet is God’s land
          a steady flow of dreams
He heard my heart song, it seems
long time before that, poetry -
          a window, by the sea
wearing a Renaissance blouse
          before I had a spouse
for true blue lit up my lighthouse

Unlit Candles

We bide our time upon the cusp
Twixt what may be and surely must
From evenings hush till morning hours
Begging chase through moon lit bowers
Where gleans the will in blissful trance
And leads the way in halting dance
To just beyond what grasp may reach
Where barely recalled memories teach
Tween what is now and might have been
To tease the eye with promised gleam
With silent whispers barely heard
That nary leash the fleeting word
But call to mind the long lost plight
That dreams and hopes in lofty flight
Might grant surcease on windswept wings
With unbought time and unsought things

Death came a stalking

In the realm of the heart which served as our guide
For vanities sake we cheated and lied
And all of the signs that lighted our way
Now darkened and silent had lead us astray
In our haste to proclaim that all must belong
We abandoned our will to see right from wrong
So we searched to the west, we searched to the east
Yet ever within did we search there the least
Now between every beat in a darkening hush
Each step of retreat in a frightening rush
And doubts every treason reflected in tears
Did overlay reason with maddening fear
Here Death came a stalking, unheeded, unsought
And sold us the wares we had already bought
So we pelted headlong into welcoming arms
Whose offered embrace was enticingly warm
We took all the things Death offered in spades
And with them adorned our newly dug graves
Of the angels that scry and mark every sin
No stroke may belie nor ever forfend
The promise averred yet never attained
In souls so conferred with indelible stain

Broken China

Broken China is the second solo and final album by Pink Floyd’s keyboardist Richard Wright – it is a concept album based on Richard’s then wife Mildred’s battle with depression

Broken China
02/02/2025

Breaking water ripples beneath the moon,
A night of a thousand furry toys
scattered across the floor of her mind—
foggy fear tugs at the fringes,
like a runaway tide,
gripping her heart with cold hands.
The world feels more and more
like unfair ground,
her little ark lost in the black cloud,
drifting too far from the lighthouse,
unable to find safe shores.
She is a woman of habit,
But tonight, her norm is shattered
there is no respite
Only the drone of endless waves
Of expectations crushing over her.
Drowning,
Yet straining to reach the rail
that never seems to appear.
The blue room empty of light,
longing for radiant times
that never come—
she waits, desperately
fighting for a breakthrough
unsought, weight of hope
elusive as a butterfly

To be longed for

To be longed for,
Oh, to be wanted.

To be craved, to be needed,
To be the answer before the question is breathed.

To be compulsory,
To be everything you've ever asked for.
To fill your heart, to be enough.

Loving but never loved,
Giving but never given.

To be the sun, yet chased by the moon,
To be the tide, yet never the shore.
To whisper love into empty echoes,
To pour and pour—till there's nothing more.

To trace your name on fogged-up glass,
Only to watch it disappear too fast.
To reach for hands that slip like shadows,
To speak of love no one can hear .

To be the warmth in a world that stays cold,
To write a love letter no one will hold.
To be a melody hummed but never sung,
To taste forever on someone else’s tongue.

To bloom in the dark, unseen, unsought,
A ghost of a dream, a love forgot.

People And Their Opinions

The tongues of men are quick to rise,
With words like arrows loosed at night;
Yet none will pause to scan the skies,
To seek the stars that lend them light.

They weave their judgments, thread by thread,
A tapestry of fleeting thought,
But truths unspoken lie half-dead,
While lies take wings and fly unsought.

How cruel the careless hand can be,
To carve its mark where none can heal;
Each whispered tale, a poisoned sea,
Each glance, a blade that cuts with zeal.

Oh, would they seek the tempered flame,
Where facts stand tall, unbent, refined,
Instead of playing this cruel game
Of shadows cast by shallow minds.

The pain they sow, they may not reap,
But hearts are scarred, and wounds run deep.

To kindle love latent within

You have no time, time’s not with us,
Back still, let love be brought with us.

Let no time rob our love in life,
Nor spill over love’s pot with us.

Forgotten we have naught with time,
Nor has ill time still caught with us.

Let’s give it a go, make it work,
Let’s find that missing dot with us,

And kindle love latent within,
Seek what was long unsought in us.

An enthralling entrancing time of the year,
When we are pensive and reflect on spiritual bliss,
Memories come back tiptoeing, joyful or sad,
Treasured friends and loved ones - we reminisce!

Emerald waves breaking on sand, griefs and
Heartaches, overwhelm with remorse, and care,
In the innermost, saddest corner of our mind,
Ring some unsought tinge of dismal despair.

Not aware who my scornful enemies were,
Never thought, disliked anyone with contempt,
Prayed ardently for their safety and wellbeing,
No harm was asked for, absolutely no attempt!

Let all human beings live in harmony…negativity,
Enmity doesn't solve any bitter problem,
Wishing happiness for everyone, close and far,
My heart feels peaceful, delighted, and solemn!

Wings of Light

Why then poetry …
why not prose
the answer prescient
to those who know

On wings of light
it comes unsought
abrupting time
on breezes caught

Why then poetry …
the world in verse
within whose lines
the Bards converse

The oldest questions
age sublime
within its torrent
—within its rhyme

Premium MemberThe Disconsolate

To all the lonely people out there feeling deserted,
to those whose joys were cut short,
to the unloved, unsought, unknown.
to those who wait in vain for love,
longing for relief from their pains,
to those who had to walk alone
on these dreary paths of life,
to the castaways, reviled and shamed by men,
to those judged and misjudged,
unable to voice the conscience's truth,
to you never given a second chance,
to all accused with no guilts and those admitting wrongs
now banished and abandoned to die,
to those whose friends are now accusers,
and those from whom family withdraws,
to you whose friends have become foes,
and relatives have turned into strangers,
treading the lonely path without a happy wish,
To you I say,
quit your inner pain,
come to the banquet of friends alike with love,
for we are many so despised,
It is but a phase,
a passing phase in time,
leave em all to time,
who dresses all aright.

Premium MemberWhat If

What If
What if you do not make it till tomorrow?
What if this night is the longest?
What if your dreams are cut short?
What if there is no path through your gloom,
What if your paths are laced with thorns?
What if there is no friend to cheer you on,
What if your foes are many, and
What if you are left alone?
Abandoned by kith and kin,
To walk the dreary path untrodden,
What if no one cares about your pain?
And the day bids its final farewell,
Amidst this toil and turmoil
The succourers become your foe,
Left alone unsought and unsung,
With no prints on the Vanity Fair
Wane by age and worn through time,
Are you there?
Been here longer than you,
But this be the words on my lips and in my heart,
May I be with His righteousness clothed
For I have none in me,
Remembering the covenant of His eternal Blood
My last plea before I go.

Tell It Like It Is

I usually shy away from volunteering unsought advice.
With fear I'll be meddling, cautions me to think twice.
For speaking without being asked, I'd pay the price
of losing a friendship, if I need to be more precise.

I always tell it like it is when my opinion is sought,
but only after giving the issue some serious thought.
Even if my heartfelt suggestions count for naught,
I promise to extend the best counsel I can impart.

All too often, it can be difficult to tell it like it is.
To breakdown the factions of an essential analysis,
by taking into consideration that it's akin to a quiz.
With a wrong answer I'll hear, "It's none of your biz!"

My goal is to help you by bringing darkness to light,
but it won't deter me from being honest and forthright.
Discord between friends should be a personal plight
so, I won't criticize either side with words of spite.

If you fear the advice I offer might lead to indigestion,
don't solicit me for an opinion to a delicate question.
A better solution would be to have a sit-down session
and talk through problems, each making a concession.

Premium MemberFor Oscar On His 15th Birthday

Juvenescence shines like the sun’s slow climb
and I see a bird not yet flown its cage,
I hear the footsteps in the march of time -
a journey of self, a coming of age!
Thus you Peter Pan on wings of an elf,
who seeks to fly between far and never,
must now say goodbye to your childish self
and dreams of eternal youth forever.
So fly dear boy, fly and never look back
and richly love the heart and feel the soul -
save close your nobilities lest you lack
for all that you do bears a living toll.
And turn your mind from temptation unsought
with all care and profundity of thought.

Hide Me, Unsought

Hide me
because Love, you believe, is hideous
because temptations feed your cravings
and scrolling sinners seek solo.

Feign a facade,
fix a fantasy,
build bull
and call it your life.

The devil rejoices on broken bonds
making merry of many mourns -
the mockery you mold over matrimony.

Hide me,
And unheed me.

Hide me, then ease the sting
by strewing petals plucked
from the flowers of farce, forced feelings.

It's ok to hide me
because the hole metamorphs
into the comfort of oblivious
and the last time a hide,
when the heart hardens,
and you get to seek me,
I won't let you find me.

Premium MemberA Jackson

The pearl-gray sky of early morning
harmonized with my mood;
color without color
life without meaning;
as I wandered through the streets
at a loss; no job.

My downcast eyes;
eye contact unsought;
watching my feet step by drudging step,
came across a twenty-dollar bill,
discarded, dropped, abandoned?
It lay there, slightly grubby;
as money often is.

To lose a twenty bill, I thought
for someone could be the difference;
food or hunger,
others; just a gamble;
on some bright spinning reels of chance.
But here it was:
Twenty dollars on the ground,
Andrew, staring at me; tempting.

A moments troubled hesitation;
I move on
and leave the twenty where it lay
for someone needier than I to find.

Yellow sunshine pierces the gray
My back straightens
my walk is brisker, zippy.
