Premium Member Mrs O'Leary's Cow

Mrs. O'Leary's cow
took a bad rap, and how!
She was fingered, named,
and unconscionably framed.
Who'd do such a thing, anyhow?

Spring

I loved on Saturdays in March, at dawn
(back then, each day was Saturday) to root
in pond and hedgerow. Light was pale, dilute,
and buds clung tight and hard around the thorn.

This season, with the world so freshly born,
enchanted me. Each flicking, wedge-faced newt,
sedge on his face, unconscionably cute,
each ink-black eye from thousands in the spawn,

each clear cold pool, each acid-green young shoot,
each minnow which acknowledged my pursuit
and twitched my hand-held line (no hope of rod!),
each copse, so self-contained and absolute,
with nascent blossom dusted, bluebell-shod,
appeared to me a pledge of life from God.

Peter Pan

A crisp, cold morning in Hyde Park,
and he is waiting for his date.
As joggers jog and poodles bark,
the girl's unconscionably late.

He paces London's crocused heart,
as traffic booms in Piccadilly:
he's practicing that English art
of seeming calm, while feeling silly.

One final tryst beside the lake,
in front of the Eternal Boy:
a parting kiss, for old times' sake ...
she's stood him up? Or playing coy?

The hotel clerk purrs sympathy
when summoned on the mobile phone.
By now, she'll be in Duty Free.
Well, there it is. This Bird Has Flown.

He tries to feign the jaunty airs
of a striped suit on a sandwich sortie,
but doing drily debonaire's
not easy when you're fat and forty.

He tramps the lonely, flat green mile
to Green Park Tube's unlovely portal,
but perks up with a cheeky smile -
well, for a week he was immortal!

Deviant Urges

Deeply rooted dark desires
of every deviant sexual urge,
divine and unconscionably
naughty primordial nuances
of sensuality unscrupulously
played out in dreamt midnight
rendezvous or reality if you dare...

it's not so hard to swallow

happy days cant stay
if i may raise or stand i must obey
moms rules Cuz shes the king of the house
pops busting round shots, all he got, not a lot.
I'm a small boy without a care for the world
yet felt some sort of way when i couldn't get the girl.
hope last ,please believe.
I'm behind in class yet i know im down, to read, something other then the lines on the sheets, but the ones in my life,
ambition never hurt so much, i remember a man crying over his trifling wife
sorrow is nothing to this thirst.
wisdom on the hook and magic is in the heart tonight
I'm feeling the first breathe of the color of sunshine, in the bedroom we make love moving to the bathroom, unconscionably realizing we r all equal, yet after i nut I'm back on my grind.

the first girl after u baby,
ima keep living to die
yet i got u deeper than my breathe in my soul, till we old.
u were my first love these girls were the first ones after u

Premium Member Wrongful Conviction

Sweetened dung is shoveled down
gluttonous throats with eager appetites for
alleged misdeeds skillfully spun
into a frenzy of sensationalized hype
by media-seasoned reporters.
.
Seduced by speculation and hearsay,
a jury of pseudo-intellectuals assembles
neatly with moral turpitude tied
smug and tight around rigid white collars
stained heavy with sweat and anticipation.

She stands alone as the eyes of
the court pierce through her appraising
her posture and expression while
the echo of charges being read dissipates
with the smell of type ink and old mahogany.

Fragments of truth embellished
for shock-value and dramatic effect
spill forth as vomit
from confessional mouths
reeking of rot and fermentation.

Vulturous prosecutors rise in fluid
motion squawking accusations in
expert execution of closing arguments,
pecking apart flesh, unconscionably
scattering the meaty bones of her defense.
