falsified ashes
uncharacteristic dust
synthetic flashes
artificial wind blows rust
plainly felt when life goes bust

So unadorned is nature's gift to us
with flawless forms of animals so pure.
Their coats and faces stand out with no fuss,
as nature does provide inborn allure.
So unadorned- no false external signs
to re-enhance the beauty they behold:
their coats wrap them in intricate designs,
and perfect faces stand out clear, and bold.
Conversely, humankind must always dress
in clothes adorned to shield and to display,
and groom our faces- shave or meet the stress
of painting eyes and lips in the best way.
Oh, for the gift of beauty unadorned-
without our tiring ways to be adorned.

“The suturing thread of the bejeweled hearts
may snap, the shadow of love remains ornamented”-
Quote by poet
The indelible image etched in my memory,
the tide of time couldn’t tow to the obscure sea. ,
In its shimmering shore on the satin sands of hue
I engraved ornate lattice with pearls of love for you.
The seraphic spectrum of sunburst sky’s lilting lure
contoured the radiant facsimile of my desire demure.
Our harmonic hearts took the entwined shape,
ornamented by sublime moonshine of longing drape.
I couldn't free your bejeweled ivory hands to depart
as I felt exhilaration fervently flicker in my heart,
flashing on your face like the luster of twilight,
I was consumed in the flare of craving delight.
You’re gone where your destiny has taken you,
your shadow lingers in my yearning threshold I view.
I sense your enduring aura that won’t wane soon,
embellish you with argentine glow of amorous moon.
I won’t forget that night howsoever I try abandoned,
your sequined shadow in stardust I won’t see unadorned.

Although the rose is unadorned by dew, rain or sun… she shines still brighter when all her work is done. ~ quote by poet
If often seems that I’m like the gentle rose,
When my limbs are pruned, my spirit thrives and grows.
Like the rose, my deep roots are the foundation,
For when my roots doubt, there is bleak stagnation.
Like the rose, my thorns seem rather like a curse,
But when looking closer, you see bugs who’re worse.
Battling bugs and disease, stems and leaves grumble,
I see the naked rose which makes me humble.
See the forest for the trees, rose as it sways,
Its rambling branches create a silent maze.
I feel just like that rose as it blooms with grace,
Then finds herself fading with age who’ll erase.
If I could tell past sprouts how to make time last,
I’d reveal the wonder of One I’ll holdfast.
When time has ended and I lay my head down,
There isn’t a doubt that His light will be my gown.
Like the rose who fades, despite our heavy grief,
We know she’ll rise again and it’s my belief…
That when she rises, she’ll be more amazing,
Much more beautiful as her soul is praising.

"For loveliness needs not the foreign aid of ornament, but is when unadorned, adorned the most"
- James Thomson
She stood there unadorned, yet he loved her
For she left his simple heart all astir
Complicated she was, he understood
Their pairing made in heaven, it was good
Life sometimes works in miraculous ways
It brought them together, still does amaze
Unadorned before, now she's his soul queen
He feels like a king with a crown unseen
Joined forever by a bond that can't break
She is his to adorn, protect and take.

“Unadorned is a heart that’s stripped of its beauty.”
- Quote by poet
She saw an empty room,
A place that had lost its bloom,
She walked through a hollow space,
It was a gloomy face.
The place had lost its beauty,
It was a book with no continuity,
The silence took her down memory lane,
Like a parched ground inundated with rain.
Her homeland had been recalcitrant to light,
Cloaked by perpetual night,
It had become an utter shadow,
And a shrivelled meadow.
Tears streamed down her eyes,
She became cold as ice,
Redemption seemed far away,
Her homeland was an unyielding clay.

****
I ask, Lord, help me live my life with mercy,
and I promise to fill my days with acts of kindness;
empathy to all, forgiveness will drip from my lips,
I will be gracious, tender, for all my earthly days.
O, Lord, I will speak with honesty and truth,
with unvarnished, factual, authenticity and integrity;
yes, my words will sometimes speak of grim reality,
but always I will give only unadorned honest truths.
I swear that I will bind mercy and truth to my neck,
and wear as a necklace for all the days of my life;
it will be so beautiful that all who see me will know
that I am bless by the Lord in grace and gentleness.

I could
Try something new
To win the heart in you
Adopt the healthiest methods
Perfect the rhythms of a different tune
Get crazy with a spice or two
And conquer with esteem
But then that wouldn’t
Be me

The trees branches naked and unadorned are looking upwards
soliciting help from the spring sunshine to warm its inner core
Leaves sprouting reaching out for the weak warmth, instant beauty

Naked, skeletal, the forest shivers.
Bark thickening in the wily wind.
Unadorned the trees slumber on.
Their limbs seeming to fight off the
onslaught of nightmarish Winter.
Twig tips claw avengingly at the sky
and rake torn nails across windowpanes.
Slumber soothes not the dreamer
who waits in a frenzy of anguish
for the kind covering of snow.
