(A seductive voice, smiles as it looks over New York. While the sun rises)
So my old record plays
As the early morning mists slowly
Drift in
And herald the new dawn of those beguiled by sin
The politicians
Government's
People
Lovers and haters
Oh, how the air is rich
With such irreducible tension
As they all wander around with delicious apprehension
Gossipping
Feeling self important and all the while never knowing
They've been all bewitched

Led by the Spirit in the wilderness,
Resisting Satan’s barbs for forty days,
His hunger first, the devil’s sought success,
“The Son of God could make these stones obey.”
Said Jesus, “Man lives not by bread alone.”
The tempter flashed the world before his gaze;
“Just bow to me to make all this your own.”
Said Jesus, “God alone, we serve and praise.”
The pinnacle was Lucifer’s last round,
“Just jump; the angels will prevent your fall.
You will not strike your foot upon the ground.”
Said Jesus, “Do not test the LORD of all!”
And when the devil saw He was immune,
He left until a time more opportune.
(from Luke 4:1-13)

Flirt not with the tempter;* draw nigh to Christ, faith’s anchor.
*James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Oh my God, Oh my Lord
Accept me and my prayer,
Give me all Your blessings
and protect me from the Tempter!
Satan is my real enemy
and You always love me
It's Your kindness my Lord,
kindness to me forever!
Oh God, save me from the Devil
and don't sear my soul in hell,
I believe in You and always will
Don't sear me, please don't sear!
The prince of darkness
makes me always hopeless
But God never leave me alone
He is the only one
Who makes me happy answer.
I'm so sinful, forgive me please!
You're so kind, Forgive my sins!
God, You are merciful and patient,
Mercy on me in the day of judgement
and help me to make myself more clear!

Have you ever felt life giving in to life's trials
Jesus gave his life, he died on the cross
Have you ever felt like giving up facing Satan's wiles
God gave his only son, for your gain in his loss
Have you ever felt like temptation was too much to bear
Well Jesus faced the tempter but he never gave in
Have you ever felt like it was hard to escape Satan's snare
Jesus used the word in the wilderness & he did win
Whilst we are still on this earth, Satan will never stop tempting
But that doesn't mean you have to stop believing
"Call unto me", God is saying
Get on your knees and start praying
Count it all joy when you face various trials
This is all done to test your belief
Pray to God and stand the devil's wiles
And you will conquer and go to heaven where there's joyous relief.

I Come Too Far
Author Dana Redricks
February 09, 2015
I come too far to turn back now
The tempter comes to tempt, but
My God comes to deliver.
I can’t call my mother because she’s
In a heavenly home far away.
I can’t call on my daddy, because
He’s never really been there;
I can’t call on my friends because they
Are too far away.
Jesus is the only friend I can call on.
I can’t find deliverance in a bottle, or
A pill and only God knows how
I feel; sometimes the pain hurts me so
And I find it hard to breathe only God can
Give me air; he is not bound by distance,
Or time, or bound by the things of this world.
He is my redeemer my soul made refined.

Atheism is a kind of drowning
Gasping Hope, as gasping air
The breath I took was not of brine
But a breath of full Despair
A vessel, knowing no rust, nor wreck
Appears – from timeless Beyond
A Captain extends His hand – and shouts:
Come on! Come on!
Will you take the Captain’s hand?
And leave this storm-tossed sea?
Will you board His sterling craft?
To sail beautifully?
Or – will you cast away salvation’s hand
As the demons of horn-filled hell
And sink unto the darkened pit
Where the Tempter dwells?

To an immortal God, father of all, who
Has given me life thus far,
And has bestowed on me all that is beautiful and has kept
None of his promises from being fulfilled, I give thanks.
Knowledge of His love always awe me.
Safely He carries me on his eagle's wings, even when I
Go astray to have a taste of greenish thistle; but
In his mercy he waits for me to come back home.
Vainly, the tempter trying to hunt my soul for the
Immortal God is always my shield. Now I know
Nothing can touch me for I am the apple of His eyes. To this
Great God,marvelous and compassionate, I give all my thanks

“So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. 17Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). 18Here they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.” Jn 19:16-18 NIV
Calvary concluded—
Christ’s right to be King.
His Lordship to be honored;
His praises to sing.
His Father’s glory He mirrored
When He entered this world.
The love of His father
Before the universe unfurled.
Calvary concluded
Satan’s right to this place.
Became Christ’s right instead
And Satan’s disgrace.
To all of the worlds
Looking on in amazement;
At the depth of His hatred
So totally blatant.
Calvary concluded
Murder of the innocent.
Vengeance of the tempter
Never before so fervent.
He thought He had eradicated
His object of jealousy.
Only to find
No end to his journey.
For Christ the over comer
Came forth from death.
No grave could hold Him,
Nor deplete Him of breath.
His death showed the universe
The injustice of Satan.
Why his final eradication
Is pure justice in action.

Upon an evening's heart distress
I bereaved the lass of palm caress
Of all the consolation sought
Nil dare allay that which death wrought
Amidst my ponders of seclusion
Logic's veiled of dolor intrusion
My psyche the Tempter left unbought
For he can't soothe the death woe fraught
Is there dining in Valhalla's Hall
for he who is slain by loveless thrall?
Do Hercule's hands possess zeal
to loose me of my heart's bastille?
Alas, our destinies coincide
I'll meet thee anew in suicide
In thou unforgotten appeal
I slay my throe in life repeal

The pain of a thousand angels
from under the bed
fills her fingertips with
the empty needle pinpricks
until her joy flows overwhelming
and covers wrap us inside hiding us from nightfall.
The bogeyman, and invention of angry minds,
from those of us still crazy enough
to believe in love, can be a refuge for our betrayal
and the vegetarians weep for the peeled vegetables in oppression,
the Earth breathes slow death,
as fishes touch sunlit surfaces
the sharks cruise silently underneath.
Bubbles pop in the sky from children;
brightly colored beach balls escape Pandora's box
to touch hellfire, the tempter wants
green green grass and the gum in love,
dew drops kissed by faeries
worn-out shoes, and paper birds;
and the tear drops finally stop.

This my passion and pride
will I immerse in the lore of my guard and guidep;
This my folly and fashion
will I bury at His cross to gain His mercy and mansion.
This my grains and gains
will I plant in seasons of pain and plain;
These my fans and foes
will I love and leave not in want and woes.
This my creed and cross
will I shield form dust and dross
that a golden coin and crown
I will gain to make the tempter fall and frown.

His fast had lasted forty nights
When the tempter came into sight;
If you are divine he said
Change these stones into bread-
Upon the scriptures Jesus fed.
