Elmer Fudd went hunting for a big prized Turkey.
A Big Gobbler he heard, Gobble near an Oak Tree..
He aimed his rifle, fired a shot!
Missed, Fell back, landed on his butt!
The Turkey saw, ran, and laughed uncontrollably!
I wish everyone a festive
Thanksgiving with family
and friends. Stay safe
out there, enjoy your tasty
meals, and give thanks
for this joyous occasion.
God bless everyone and all
you love...
Gratitude lesson reigns indeed
learned by my child with special need
teaching me to show
“thank you” with a glow
when I don’t smile at his good deed.
Thanksgiving* bliss must then prevail
to vanquish pride that does assail
as my son reminds
since he really finds
that I forget, and sometimes fail.
*Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Two weeks before Thanksgiving, I got a jolt,
I was driving my old bucket of nuts and bolts,
along the country road on a chilly autumn day,
Saw wild turkeys walking, they'd be ambling awhile,
I slowed and rolled down the window to say,
"Hey gobblers, soon it'll be Thanksgiving Day,
Run! run as fast into the woods as you can!
As soon hunters will be here, you'll be stuffed in a pan,
with sage and butter, and, may I be bold-
you'll be on china trimmed in gold!"
Their eyes got as big as fried eggs,
never saw turkeys run so fast on such spindly legs!
Deep into the timber they sure did disappear,
that Thanksgiving everyone went vegetarian-
and the turkeys had no fear. ~
There was a young turkey named Sam
Whose favorite food was sweet ham.
Though kept as a pet
He could not forget
Thanksgiving Day might be a scam!
Though liked by the folks on the farm
He still felt they might do some harm-
Like, choose him to eat
As their main course treat!
Roast piggy would ease his alarm!
Grandma burns the food and is no cook
She needs to stick to reading a book
Fire covers the turkey
It tastes like beef jerky
Paula brought food we are off the hook
Knew this fellow named Marvelous Marvin
You'd think though he was constantly starvin'
Always in his kitchen
Fingers he'd be lickin'
Every day's Thanksgiving with Marvin carvin'
pilgrim turkeys sensing dread
scurry into an old shed
farmer hear our plea
nest we in a tree
and dear friend we are ill bred.
Here’s to Thanksgiving and to you
have fun, eat up, and give thanks too
big, swollen tummies
result of yummies
I’m just hoping that you won’t spew!
my Thanksgiving comes with a sigh
I’m a steak and hamburger guy
roasted turkey is not
the kind of meal I want
I'll chow down on the pumpkin pie!
'Round table we sat that fine day
With turkey all carved on a tray.
She grabbed that drumstick
She wanted to lick!
Our nine-month grandbaby- HOORAY!

I would rather have all my teeth pulled out by a mad gorilla
From the psychiatric ward of a jail house in Manilla,
With a pair of dirty dingy pliers, and manure and more,
Than have to walk on Black Friday into any store’s entrance door.
Rather have my wisdom teeth pulled by this deranged gorilla head,
Without benefit of Novocain in a dirty cow-birthing shed,
Nothing neat, nothing sterile, or the least bit clean along the way,
Than have to go kicking and screaming into a store on Black Friday.
So if you think you are going to call me at two in the a.m.
And try to get me to the store, I am simply not one of them.
And if you call me at the ridiculous morning hour of two,
I will send this head-case gorilla to pull some teeth out of you.
Oh thee! Of feathered frock
Bird of paradise – thee are not
For you wobble when you walk
And gobble – gobble - while you talk
Oh thee! Of stubby legs
Neck hanging in a bag
Of skin that sags and sags
How can you face another day?
Oh thee! With girth rotund
With wings of nearly none
Your flight is but a funny run
Some chase you just for fun
Oh thee! Of feathered frock
Bird of paradise - thee are not
As you lie on chopping block
Ending up in cooking pot.
But come Thanksgiving Day-
Everyone will gladly say
You are by far - the finest bird
That God has ever made.

That muffled sound you hear is Susie.
She’s still talking. What a doozie!
At her appointed time to die,
her mouth refused, and that’s no lie.

Dear Lord
We give thanks to you
this day
for everything that we have
And for everything
that we do not have
and have asked you for
in the past
would you
please ask Santa to rush it
and get it here
by Christmas
Thanks Lord
Thanksgiving is a day to be grateful,
Not a day to be grumpy or hateful.
But a burnt pumpkin pie,
And a turkey that's dry,
Might make it hard to be elateful.*
