the first in the month of May
Kentucky Derby
The running of the roses
The first jewel in the crown
It goes from Fern Rock
to Pattison Avenue
The Broad Street Subway
That's where Philadelphians
travel southward to the games.
You see them stretching
bending each leg back so far
boundaries tested
overextending limits
~ Then they run a marathon
Bowling
Full car alley bound
Rivalrous family fun
Two touching lanes booked
Helped all with shoes and ball weight
Cheered good throws, soothed gutter rolls
