The untended plant
withers away, leaf by leaf ~
a time of indifference.
Why do we falter,
poised at the divine altar,
blaming it on gravity?

we notice our body getting tired
with lethargy engulfing feeble form
bliss pulsations yet remain vibrant
to this strange paradox we conform
as is inevitable tamas yields to bliss
there is nothing we do in this of course
in the human experience we as witness
observe thus the power of God’s force

moment to moment
we detect lethargy
of the tamas guna
and are astonished
how gravity confines
the light of our being
in dungeons of darkness
to fulfil needs of feeble form
wherein at this time we dwell
as of choiceless choice
we may yield or overcome
the cravings of our ego
either which ways
we are free
the difference however
is the state of consciousness
are we asleep or are we now awake

Of Gunas three, Tamas holds sway,
cajoling consciousness to rest,
though the child in us wants to play,
of zest and zeal we’re dispossessed.
Heart contracted and soul’s stance stooped,
we have been by lethargy duped,
yet like the Phoenix we may rise,
embracing each breath in surprise.

here we are, abiding in bliss energised stillness
then an earthy agenda calls upon us to act
for there is a mundane task to be performed
in as ordained in our earth life role we so chose
hesitancy, if it arises, to dive into gross matter
does it not signal addiction to our comfort zone
what is that that inhibits our meditational orientation
merely by altering activity mind-body is to perform
introspecting thus we ascertain the cause within
being our inability as yet to bilocate fickle attention
which as yet has tendencies toward inertia or tamas
preferring to stagnate somewhere rather than flow
the aspect of consciousness that stagnates is ego
therefore as yet traces of feral residue remain within
restricting free and unfettered movement of presence
across all realms and domains in vibrant nonchalance

The Gunas three twirl us around
Hemmed in, all we may do is to respond
In waking, dream and deep sleep states
Mindful not to trauma bond
Tamas or sloth, a measure of our instinct
Stupor and inertia bogs us down
Yet if our heart be love inked
Transformed as light, we can never drown
Bemused by illusions, Rajas, fire of desire
Propels identity into action
But dwelling in stillness, eye of each storm
Feral urges gain no traction
Purity of Satva is the love and light of Self
A singularity wherefrom we chose to descend
Thus vaporising lower mind in surrender
We behold our inner being ascend
The see-saw battle of mind-body and senses
Manifests through the Gunas, that we may learn
That if God be the sconce within our heart
His flame of love and light in us will forever burn

denial of what is as is unfolding
clinging to that that never was
glue of ego spawned identity
we see these tamas spirals
attempting to anchor us
in fear and darkness
our nonchalant eye
entwined with heart
ever bubbling with joy
opts not to trauma bond
with such sunken vibrations
judging nothing celebrates life

Beholder, vapour
witnesses stupor.
Magnetism form spears;
Tamas disappears.
Thus feeling complete,
soul negates defeat,
for save bliss throbs dear,
there is no one here.

Weighed down by the Guna Tamas
Stuporousness and animus
Veil of darkness shrouding the light
Dispelled by soul’s light, luminous
Desires quelled, heart lotus shines bright
Suffused with bliss through day and night
Holding still, mindful attention
Acquiring thus, spherical sight
Soul centric orientation
Our pristine heart’s meditation
Awareness always self-aware
In vibrant void of cessation

Unforced error, due to stupor
Tamas Guna holds sway
Be a winner, not a loser
The divine entwined way
Love suffused awareness
One with the That oneness
Dispels stuporousness
Ego tremor
Unforced error

The Gunas three, twirl us around
Sattva, Rajas, Tamas
Rapturous bliss, in each state found
Love and light, our compass
Slow down the pendulum
Of this here body prism
Tranquil continuum

The Gunas three - all become one
When fears and desires rest
Thus when our ego comes undone
Bliss throbs within our chest
In the current flowing
No coming or going
Save joy scintillating
Serenity

Tamas
I began in my mother's womb where darkness clothed me
still carrying taste of death upon my tongue I suckled and kicked free
there were dancing lights and tears in the Universe gathering me to life
it didn't take long I did forget, I pierced the veil and wailed like a knife
Rajas:
I drank the nectar of the wild flower consumed the salinity of my goods
entered into karma like a Gita in a wave of passion, no longer was I wood
pulsing into life I sipped the juices of my passion and enjoyed the rays
with third eye open I was guided through my living numbered days
Sattva:
Like a pear tree laden with heavy fruit, life began to take its toll
like Saraswati I let go, then held on to a mala and a palm leaf scroll
swept away by a joy so pure, I found the core of love's own goal
there was nothing else I needed so I climbed the lotus of extol
All lies melted away in the face of truth and revelation ,
I lost myself in worship, became a sweet oblation.

The
Gunas
out of which,
Tamas stupor
requires to awake,
in shift of awareness
pausing at Rajas aspect,
whereupon we address our fears,
mirroring desires and attachments,
until Satvik stance becomes permanent.
This vibrational ascent is our choice,
attained by looking softly inwards,
melding ego with glowing heart,
as our total surrender,
ever aglow, vibrant,
centred in the void,
devoid of fears
and desires;
our soul,
free.
