~ Swans tell stories of eternal love -
the hymn of the earth ~
                                                         quote by poet

A flock of swans sings duets with the wind
where the shadows fall at an angle
Their beauty is an eternal spectacle
                                     sealed by divine sanctuary
Evening sky burns - almost incomprehensible sight

Swan Song

Splashes of gold on the pure white wings
as the heavenly blessings from above,
Glorious songs of silence on divine strings
sharing the unfailing love.

Sun caresses the tired feathers,
filling them with new powers,
Circles of unknown desires surround her beauty,
as she waits for the last hours.

The eager eyes scout the horizon
with a noticeable hope for life,
Her mysterious shadow makes the waters quake,
Her many secret longings stay alive,
The dusk is coming on the tranquil lake.

Nature's Swan Song

When swallows on the wing, leave whence they came,
The autumn breeze, plays music with the leaves.
On trees adorned, with colours of the flame,
And sway, whichever way the four winds please.

While mellow misty mornings, blur our eyes,
Those wizened leaves, now dying, take to flight.
Soon winds of change, join in with their demise,
To help them dance macabre, day and night.

   Now nature's never ending carousel,
Where extreme weather plagues, air sea and land
And mankind's lifestyle, sounds the earth's death knell,
Unless toxins misuse, are strictly banned.

   Atmospheres pollution, Raw sewage spills.
   Concrete jungles, Atomic waste landfills.

The hound has caught the hare;
the man, the fox
doves, long-flown.

Insensate fish float
on the surface of the lake
shimmering as the ripening rays
of dawn's early sun slide
effortlessly
between the sinking morning mist
and the evaporation
of last eve's darkened frost.

In the misty distance
two swans,
entwined necks locked
in imperishable embrace
savor
the calm, the warmth,
the rapturous silence.

All that is left.

Swan Song

This aint my first rodeo
I have known horse refuse before

Not thoughtful enough or thorough I thought
Well thats what boots are for

Emblazened on my personal crest
familial coat of arms

I will haul me from this arena
be my self appointed gendarme

Prison would be an upgrade to
held fast with invisable bar

set myself free fly the coop
If I have to sleep in a car

Or any of the myriad excuses for
the cowardice that holds me fast

I simply must be my own champion
I see this now at last

No one is coming to extricate
they will not send in the clown

For front and center he holds the stage
as I look for him all around

I pray to never give up on me
And never be given up on

Off this sawdust littered ground
this phoenix will soar like a swan.

Requiring more room for take off
But thereafter soon from sight

The powerful strength and span of its wings
Climbing boldly through this night

Swan Song

Alas, my time has come and gone
And so I shall be moving on
For my first love is calling me
To be who I was meant to be

And though derailed, by choices poor
I've managed still, to reach that door
As I proceed to venture through
I fondly shall remember you

Despite this moment, bittersweet
I'll not regret our chance to meet
Nor any of the times we had
With memories both good and bad

You deserve much better than
What I can give you, as a man
But as an artist, a struggling one
I know my journey's just begun

And though you think this swan has died
I'm merely on the other side
Where I am learning my new song
That's been inside me all along

she meets
               her final moment
with a swan song for the ages.
the theater is packed in like sardines.
           a cynosure of all eyes.

           her own stitched shut
            as she starts to sing.
               her face, baring
           tracks of trickling tears,
         flush with searing passion.

            her voice, quivering
             with raw emotion,
           reaches a crescendo.
                 a final bow
 amid a thunderous standing ovation.

     sustained cheers and whistles
      from a captivated audience
           a celebrated soprano
          rings down the curtain.
the end of an illustrious career.

         goodbye kisses abound.
              red roses catapult
                 to the stage.
                a swan song
                to remember.

Swan song

Play of life an act,
so why then react
to what’s manifest,
as an earth life test?

We’re in deep trance,
thus our ignorance
veils light of our soul,
that’s joyful and whole.

Love’s magic potion
ends thought commotion,
seeing all as one,
as light of the sun.

Holding still focus,
along love’s locus,
all boundaries blur;
bliss beats within stir.

God alone is: fact.
There’s no this or that.
Judging not merit,
awake now, hermit.

Body: here, now, this,
is vibrant with bliss
but we feel it not,
since in thought’s web caught.

Let the dream unfold,
in as is foretold,
as we play our role ~
love drenched soul our goal.

The opera singer sang her high
note,
Fell dead, husband stood there
to gloat.

A beautiful swan glided over a lake,
Graciously no sound did make.
Children throwing pieces of bread
To help keep the swans well-fed,
They enjoyed feeding these majestic birds.
Until

Quacking ducks swam noisily past,
With baby ducklings following last.
People strolling in the sun
Peace seemed to reign over everyone
It was a perfect day
Until

Suddenly all was still,
The lake surrounded a grassy hill.
From the far side of the hill, there came a sound.
A heavenly song that echoed around,
The lake.

Everybody was amazed,
When through a surreal misty haze,
They saw the body of a mute bird
Who sang the loveliest melody ever heard.
Floating

Along the lake, peacefully unaware
Of the marvel left there
When it took its last breath
Impressing onlookers to death
Singing the inimitable.

Premium Member Swan Song Dance

A flower blooms beauty in the prime of spring
Dances as a dainty ballerina in the amorous air
Enters many enthralled hearts that solely sing
For her to dance to their tune with luring flair.

To her sensuous surrealist world she takes them
Their minds floating mesmerized in ecstatic air
Adulation plucks the flower from the drying stem
Youth wilts with passing years, she does not care.

Time plays with her lonely life the unkind game
She falls from the heights of admiration and grace
Gnawing apathy, an infliction she could not tame
Arc light fades as obscurity pervades to embrace.

Flower of her gleaming youth flashes on her face
She dances to the flitting rhythm of her swan song
Blaze of the last dance makes the stage a fireplace
She burns the affliction that agonized her for so long.

The last time my Mother sang to me
With delicate high notes, powerful and sweet,
                  Pushing through tremors with courage and pride;
How could I know, it was her swan song?

With delicate high notes, powerful and sweet,
                     Remembering each verse, she had rehearsed;
How could I know it was her swan song?
Putting challenges aside, she wanted to shine.

Remembering each verse she had rehearsed.
Pushing through tremors with courage and pride,
                     Putting challenges aside, she wanted to shine;
Where recollections of days long past, reflected in her eyes.

                   Pushing through tremors with courage and pride;
Her fragile fingers clasped in reverent prayer,
Where recollections of days long past, reflected in her eyes,
The last time my Mother sang to me.
