When I Get Old

When I get old
I will attain a clean heart of gold
as wise as that of King Solomon
until I turn the ripe old age
of one hundred years old

I will pattern my life
after that of Lady Wisdom
instead of that of Lady Folly
which I had followed in my youth
subscribing lessons from my lifetime
and writings I would of left behind
into the hands of my descendents
like a baton in a relay race

When I get old
my heart will forsake
the desire and comforts
of the earthly pleasures
I had aspired for in my youth
because these such things
will become nothing but frivolity
but an adventure of spending
my days walking with the Lord
on the sand and ocean waves
and sports fishing on my boat
until my name is called upon
by our divine Father above
for my earthly departure

Dreaming With Eyes Open

(KELOGBs)

Stop now, the challenge tag.
Your works are mere living snag
Bearing the giant cover flag.

Tracking down chances' wills
Exporting thy Awesome quills
Into many languages mills...

Someone using your head;
Imagine you lay your bed,
Another sleep tight dead.

In style comfortably-
To dreaming appreciably
Thy weird nights veritably.

As a smart team leader
Engaging virtual fender
Collate all engender.

Truly, it should be fine.
Hearts cheer gladly to assign
Bards' twine for tag's guideline.

Where all are for the same,
No one only dares to aim
Achieves without a team.

May thy labors be vain!
Who toys others' toils for gain.
Subscribing not their pains...

Let their lights become fright!
That with joy, sadness alight
To dwell faulty delight...

Design their vision's grave;
Timing piracy they crave...
Rare languages engrave!

Amen!!!

Occupied
The same with division
Asleep through my eyes
Occupy
As I dream I sleep
as my eyes are closed
Throughout the night
Midnights rest
Slumbers crest

Standing awaken now I work, I occupy till He comes

Prank

In the name of Prank
What are we doing?
Abusing and humiliating
Flirting and dating
Pushing and pulling
Trolling and mocking
Slapping and thoking
Subscribing and sharing
Spitting and daring
Attacking and throwing
What are we doing?
Where are we going?
I will never fit in. That's one of my best qualities. Terri Willingham.

The Old Scribe

Memory in hand the ancient mariner of memories
Readies to recapture – to transcribe - in fading ink
A whisper of recollections – one speck in eternity –
Illuminated by the lamp circumscribing shadows
To describe, as the guardian of children’s children,
The oral history inscribed within a tapestry –
Well worn, threadbare -
History retold in a way prescribed
By the page and pen ascribed to time’s signature -
Time’s traveler – riding on a stylus quill of plumes –
Conscribes seconds, minutes, days and decades
To breathe déjà vu as scribes of spoken portraits
Lining legendary walls and weeping wells,
Subscribing to reflection’s markers – place cards –
Bookmarks in dimmed eyes and sun kissed hands -
Remembrance illustrated – scenes re-seen.

New Years Day 2016
And the Luck of The Black Eyed Peas
Written: by Tom Wright

Jowl and black eyes with crackling corn bread,
This once a year meal is entrenched in my head.

This yearly ritual is said to bring good fortune,
To believe, or not, I always eat a good portion.

I admit that for this repast I’m not overly crazed,
And would favor a good sirloin, moderately brazed;

But again, on New Year’s table, Peas will enhance,
While not subscribing to luck, why take a chance?

As far back as memory takes me in childhood,
With a few exceptions, this has been my New Years Day meal.
Habits ingrained in youth, seldom change.
