Take Your Medicine

Consent equals dissent,
Into another's intent,
A message sent inside,
Directing the ride,
Having to coincide,
With who chooses rules,
Fools to a false Idea,
Deciding to follow their guide,
Getting you to pick a side,
Dividing you from God,
Trotting on others beliefs,
For some personal relief,
Easing their own grief,
A thief wouldn't be able,
To have a seat at the table,
A fable when tested,
Arrested development,
Eloquent dialogue specialists,
Listing all the guidelines,
Refining your inner mind,
Into their Confined ideas,
Designed to keep you coming back,
It will put you back on track,
Then smack you with the past,
Alas you'll never pass,
They have a class you can take,
Partake in their wine,
It's blood from the Divine,
Find value in their bread,
It's the body of the dead,
Said to heal you from a sin,
If you take it again and again,
All are welcome in,
If they take their medicine.

Premium Member Changing Seasons, Changing Moods

I'm raised in SoCal, calm weather agrees,
and you, from Boston, know weather, severe.
Our states of mind match these climates I fear.
Like Winter sadness, leaves fall from your trees,
and then I'm missing those green absentees.
Like Summer, a hot flare up may appear.
The reasons are celestially unclear.
Oh, how will I deal with moods such as these?

Deciduous trees, specialists in change -
variety and beauty they will bring.
These shifts do add the color to my life,
as days with you I would never exchange.
In Winter, I am sure there will be Spring,
and I'm happy that I made you my wife.

ONLY WORDS

ONLY WORDS

Should poetic works be for general consumption
Is superficial readership the goal, and if so, why
Or aimed at those who as specialists, self-identify
Perhaps have in mind, those with some gumption

With words flowing well, it still takes some time
When following a pattern that’s hard to construct
In most verses, metaphors can be cleverly tucked
Most will accept the impact of meter and rhyme

Should it provide insight or just a pleasant sound
Words can describe the everyday or even fantasy
Or the beauty of nature when taking time to see
Yet success is when a meeting of minds is found

There are those who think in just two dimensions
And words at one level, can offer entertainment
But with a deeper resonance, makes a statement
When understood, can realise a poet’s intentions

When conjuring some vivid description of a scene
Magic can sometimes offer more than just reality
Looking behind the obvious, can focus on duality
What it can be, now is, or in the past, has been

Premium Member Destruction of the Devil

He fell, yet held to denial
She'd gone several seasons to send him to hell
Cold iron rod was insufficient to smash him
She saw and stretched for the sledge
His face of caramel caved, dwindled he like a drunk
Rage of storm flung him fast amidst junk.

Astronomical lift cushioned her
Keen students returned respect, while she waged war
For the culprit, that aged false balm intent to win -
One would glean, Neil deGrasse Tyson discerned her dreams
He knew folk art, martial art, art of other sort
His gift lingered long like caution to one
For he stood as master of space she graced
She who observed in awe his wit, felt aroused.

Then and there, she feared no more the devil's lure
Weapons herculean lay wait
She pounced and pound, his faint voice drowned.
She lunged, sledgehammered away his head
Specialists would haul and burn remains,
joy and pain, touch of rain, prelude to spring renewal.

A Man Got Sick

A man got sick, needed specialists' aid,
All organs were treated, no hope did they fade,
But alas, in the end,
The man met his end,
Happily ever after, his organs stayed.

Premium Member Its All About Me

I want to say sorry
For being remiss
I tend to worry
As I look at the list
Of the appointments I
Have to
Keep, every week.
I get such care for the
Cures that I seek.
Everything is fading
And it seems far away.
I have glaucoma
Diabetes as well,
Three types of Arthritis
That hurts like hell.
I see a heart specialist,
And lung specialists, too and
Peripheral Neuropathists to name
Just a few,
IBS that messes with my tum
I no longer have control
Of my bum.
I go to physio classes,
Twice a week.
I have a hoarse voice,
I cough and wheeze when I speak.
I am not writing this for sympathy
Life has been very good to me
I don't know how to explain
In any other way
What I started to say
I have had so much encouragement from PS
It has caused much happiness
I have become very slow
And have lost my get-up and go
So without further ado
I want to apologise to all of you
Who have kindly taken the time
To comment on my simple rhyme
And I have yet to answer you.

The Risen Parapet

And the generalists knew one better
preaching to the converted
They have risen above their parapet
Industrious said the observer
as the moon made a foray
anywhere else

Have you seen the sun rise
Repeating in its perpetuality
Then blow the burgles
for news to come back in my time,
eavesdropping like elf's ears
as the specialists made their first foray
under dawns reign

Tory Benefit Scandal 2021

I am seeing health specialists over a serious concern,
for a year I've had a sick note which says I can't work,
always paying less benefit than they say I should earn,
and it's now mandatory for me too do a job search
and they'll sanction my benefit, if I don't search I won't earn,
but I'm ill seeing specialists who see a reason to observe
for an entire year Vasculitis has been their word
my blood says I have it but the source is a search
until found they can't treat me and that's why I can't work
paying me less than they state I deserve
and then docking it all because I don't look for work
even though I've a sick note and specialist concern
because Eton doesn't teach what real people learn

Labour just take shots at Tory failure,
they could make a plan that shows me my savour,
and the Lib Dems are who what when where when what who no wa
COME UP WITH A PLAN THAT GOES FORWARD AND BE A PLAYER,
Cameron cut benefits like Boris but before
so you should have a plan as it happens once more

The TORIES want me dead, they don't want me poor,
cutting corners without a clue, as they did once before

Dog and Pony Show

Flop, flap, pap and boots dragging across the concrete.

That’s the sound of a River Rat somewhere standing in formation forever.

The sound of his comrades catching him and dragging him away. The sound of him being the joke of the day.

The sound of a dog and pony show.

Just because a big wig is showing up and
passing by...casualties temporarily die.

Their spirits leave their bodies due to heat, lock and buckling theirs knees, pin balls in their feet, they could feel the beeds

With nothing but the peanut butter from an MRE and water from a dirty camel pack. They get to watch their friends fall on their backs.
Flop,flap,slap

God damn specialists...

I never want to do this stuff again.

Just watching my staff Sergeant drag him away and grin.

Plus it’s 100 degrees and we’re an hour in

Skid marks of Good boots...good soldiers Scraping across the motor pool...

Just because of a dog and pony show....

Specialists

In younger days, my doctor calls
Were few and far between.
A checkup visit wasn’t ever
Part of my routine.

But aging changes all of that
For everyone is trying,
By seeing every specialist,
To staunch the fear of dying.

So now a dermatologist
Will check a brand-new mole.
Suspicious bloodwork? You’re in
Hematologist’s control.

Of course, the gynecologist
Must get a yearly see
And ophthalmologists and those
In rheumatology.

Let’s not forget those stress tests
Cardiologists insist on
And also the urologists
Whose plastic cups get pissed on.

Most gastroenterologists
See clients up in years
And certainly psychiatrists
See seniors for their fears.

I wonder if we might be
Better off just saying “**** it”
For all these doctors can’t prevent
Our kicking of the bucket.

Wildlife

WILDLIFE
Character features,
more than just creatures,
with colours of fur n feather,
and adaptations for earthly weather.

The sounds of languages,
echo anywhere, everywhere.
nature's web to care or dare,
Listen, to what knowledge they share.

Born to be free, not part human society.
Personalities on display in so many way,
With every existence having worth,
upon this Earth.

Survival specialists,
with a stance, to natures balance.
Gifted all distinctive and instinctive,
super senses, for preying and defences.

Sometimes cruel. living nature's rule,
Learning the perception, of death by deception,
Earths planetary life is being trialled,
Tis humanity running wild.
Wild life reduction will cause human destuction
