Sing a song of adventure today
It's Midwinter time of the year
Solstice ~~ snow is falling, everywhere
Colours are pearl white, so bright
Everywhere my eyes do look ~ extreme beauty
Sparkles all over trees, oozing light
How I love this time of year
Mirror ~ mirror on the wall
What is my emotion today ?
Mirror replies " it's courage my friend "
" your strong as a lion, especially when problems arrive "
So let us all sing a song of freedom
Every season of year ~ not just at Midwinter
Love forests and all within- like the stream,
the trees, and every pretty sight,
midwinter days seem,
to me a wonderful delight,
both an awesome adventure and a dream.
I enjoy when the fragile snowflakes pour,
it makes the forest gay,
at night or day,
I always leave wanting to stay some more.
The next morn' I am back to walk the path,
and listen to the songbirds sing,
watch ducks have a bath,
see a cardinal flash his red wing,
the black crows seem to be on the warpath.
Calm water is a mirror reflection,
fallen snow is pearl white,
quite a beautiful sight,
and the courage of nature is my obsession.

A lone sprout
stands tall—
waiting to greet the ghostly glimmer of dawn.
With petals frozen in pure repose,

Where shadows stretch in iron gray,
Yet waking from a frozen sleep,
The world begins to turn away.
A single blade of emerald light
Pierces the crust of hardened snow,
Brave herald of the coming bright,
Where hidden, rushing waters flow.
The winter’s veil is wearing thin,
A tattered shroud of mist and sigh,
As golden warmth begins to win
And paint the edges of the sky.
Each shivering branch and rooted stem
Prepares to shed its coat of white,
To wear the dew—a budding gem—
And step into the morning light.

Winter storms
buried us in snow!
So much white
blinded us
from nature's autumn colors
hiding deep below.
Record snow
blanketed the lawns
and rooftops!
Parking lots
were plowed, leaving snow mountains-
blocking drivers' sight.
Then warm days
unveiled some color!
Seen again,
shades of greens
stirring thrills for coming Spring-
soon awakening.
Down the rusty staircase, moving rather slow
I’m heading to the Scarborough beach
It’s all white above, so it is below
Snow keeps falling, piling up inch by inch
Poster with boat trips fell under the tree
Today’s weather is not fit for cruises
Either fishermen won’t go out to sea
Certainly they’ve got credible excuses
Muddy waters splash on the snow-white shore
A couple of dog walkers stroll along, apparently
Like they always do, like they did before
Seagulls sound sad, but the dogs are happy.
