Hang on, You're nearly There!
I'm giddy, spinning around,
So near, yet so far.
On the slippery spinning
dip of serendipity.
Making do with the hoodoo of déjà vu.
I've seen that scene before!
On endless recycles
of somewhere when and there.
My prospectus is shod
with slithery wooden clogs.
Tripping, toppling precipitous,
edging ever closer to flying
right off the roundabout
by the whirling surge.
Whizzing around in circles
on the impending.
Barely holding on
with hands and arms,
billowing and centrifuging
in the passing wind.
Reaching outstretched to catch
just what and when,
could be just happening,
could be just passing on by.

Doris was dowdy, drab, and draggle-tailed too
Forever frumpy, frightened, a failure, at age thirty-two
Jaundiced, juicy-gossipy, jealous, and July jailed
Slovenly, slithery, shipwrecked, her moment had sailed.

Spiny horned lizard
Arizona sand digger
Flat body blunt snout
Where are you going
With slithery ugliness
Wait up old friend

I glide in dream
through musky sky and golden stream
like winged birds ,
in a space ,devoid of words.
a golden bull amidst lush grass,
adorned with gems and silvery brass,
graze in a snowy meadow,
among a herd of buffaloes.
came a roar,
from afar,
and rose a snake,
from the lake.
I stood in daze,
when like a maze,
the land cracked open.
and smoke covered the sun.
up rose a cry,
which torments my soul.
stood in sky
an army of ghoul,
of dragons and monsters.
a legion of terror I see.
I turned toward their slithery master.
whose eyes were upon me
as it gobbled down the bull supreme.
I glide in a strange dream.

The other woman I was not the other worldly one I was
with sexy strut she came she did this is what I ghastly did
with a ghoulish voice I spooked and thwarted no applause
no I never did forget the hurt she caused, he caused...
A solitary candle glowed on my gravestone mod it glowed
a putrid smell of stinking corpse arrived when I arrived
like a hunk of foul skunk hidden in an old commode
I sent her goosebumps and a lump of hate archived
Smoke filled the air a tomcat appeared at her heels
with claws, fangs and two angry eyes ready to fight
yanking at her flaxen hair I prepared for a tart meal
as she screamed and screamed, wildly into the night.
The other man he was not the love of my life he was
wearing faded jeans and a Nike T, he goaded me
Slimy slithery things crawled up towards him with a cause,
he never knew what hit him as he burned to the 3rd degree!

I summoned sorrow to swallow my soul whole and save it from its sinister solitude.
I stared at the stars sailing against a surf of sunless skies.
I spoke to the sleek sand in soft whispers, entrusted my secrets to its slithery dance.
I sank with a scene of a silent starry sky into a silky sea of soundness.
And my spirit surrendered to the serene song of the swell to shield my psyche from the screeches of this senseless city.
* * *
Suddenly,
I've been reminded of the truth:
So solid & devastating.
The sea is distant from this city;
I'm only staring at the ceiling,
Sparkling salt water streaming from both eyes.
Strange how the darkness of this place seduces one to lose oneself in fantasies
of soaring up towards a starry space . . .

So I am going away for a couple of days
Where?
Well everywhere and all times
I only ask one thing
The tree in the garden yeah the one with those juicy red apples yep that one, don’t and I reply don’t eat any of them
What am I saying
You know snakes yeah those slithery things no legs
Some hiss some spit
Once I took a rattle and added a snake I called it a snakerattle but at no time-this a clue did I give any of them the power to speak
So if a snake speaks to either of you
Do not listen
Who am I kidding this knowing everything is a pain
Of course you are gonna eat the apple
Maybe I should make it a banana Samael has always had problems saying that
Imagine a half eaten banana on the back of the iPhone
Never mind see you in a couple of days

Froggie settled down right away in his delirious state
Enjoying his stogie, next to a slithery creature, a snake.
The rest of the swamp felt his demeanor calm down.
They loved the feeling they were feeling, relaxed all around.

I started to walk in tall grass, alas,
a snake hides there and I cannot pass.
Slithery, slimy, awful, shoddy
RUN! instead, I look at snake's body.
A tiny snake rests beside its mom,
they're enjoying a warm, sunshine calm.
And look! Perfect diamonds on mom's back
in lovely shades of green with a black.
Her eyes, as she locks mine in her glance,
blaze coral fire, the green they enhance.
Perhaps we should give Nature regard;
not confine it to evergreen yard.
I learned a bit on afternoon stroll,
hidden creatures we should extol
Snake and I each understood our place
in Nature's garden and Human race.

Creepy witch is as slithery and sneaky as a secretive snake.
The other witches give her a wide berth when she’s awake.
She only appears on Halloween every tenth year or so.
We truly do not know where she lurks, hides, or will go.
She slithers around as mysteriously menacing as a mouse.
We have followed her past more than one haunted house.
She always disappears before we turn the corner though.
We have no idea if she has ascended or gone way below.

Truth’s not just in the beauty of our trees
cherry blossom
it’s pervading bouquet
the falling confetti
Truth’s whatever hangs from the tree
like branches
and fruit
perhaps that lynched refugee
Truth’s also insidiously part of the tree
toxic leaves
poison bark
spears used in our savagery
Truth’s sometimes hidden by the tree
shallow roots
slithery snakes
the rotten core we cannot see
Truth’s deeply carved into the tree
a lovers name
the idolised hero
our past disgrace of being monkeys
Truth’s symbolism comes from the tree
a carpenters son
the scourging whip’s handle
burning cross of supremacy
So what truth do we represent to the tree
maybe it’s master
could be it’s slave
More than that! we’re the common enemy

I float through the air, amazed at how cool I am feeling
Landing on the top of an oak. She lets me slide through her trees.
I ooze under a couple of ants, who give me barely a glance.
I am from heaven, I want to say, but that might be arrogant.
So I keep oozing, without a word, silent, and steady.
Another raindrop splashes on my face. What the heck!
Now I do not know where I end and she begins. She smirks and laughs.
If there is one thing I do not like it is ….
Bam! We are assaulted with ten more raindrops.
What the heck! I had no idea this could happen.
CRACK! Zeus is driving a chariot through the sky apparently.
The sky gets dark. I am sloshed down the tree, landing on the ground.
Still unsure whether I am still me, or just a part of them.
I am Delaware, another raindrop tells me. She asks what has happened.
I have no idea. Even if I knew in another incarnation, I do not have words now.
I am a cold, wet, unhappy raindrop, oozing into a slithery mud puddle.
A fat ugly worm begins rolling into me. Making my day even less perfect.

The Passing of Fear
A mark on the door…
It is so quiet here,
I believe that I can hear a snake,
meandering across the dirt road,
along the backside of the west fence.
Usually he takes his time,
but tonight,
he seems to be…
in a hurry.
“Where are you going slithery one?”
“Where do you think you will be welcome?”
We all need a home.
We all need a place to be.
When the night is darker than thought possible,
and the stars have not come out at all,
bow your head and pray,
there will be a dawn.
The promise of today,
is not the tomorrow…
we dreamed of,
as young and stupid, perhaps foolish children.
Instead it is the one that we deserve,
for doing all that we were told
would hurt us in the end.
Yet, even being warned,
we continued forward…
Ever believing in our own immortality,
rather than the truth of our eternity.
Free, words shared, until the take our right to be FREE away...
Pray for better days my friends. God Bless and be safe.

If I weren’t afraid I’d have embarked once again
on the journey I had since long abandoned in chagrin,
on life’s pathway crowded by hostile strangers,
and held their hands, walked the empathy together.
On my uphill climb of the formidable mountain face,
summit of success lying beyond slithery failure called cliff,
I’d have reached at the end of effort if I weren’t scared stiff,
and if I had relied upon the dormant strength of self belief.
The gale of dark night carried to me your enticing call
from across the swollen river in surging spate of turmoil.
I’d have sailed to your eroded bank with loads of dream,
if my latent love could build a boat of courage for me.
As our paths cleaved at the edge of the trying times,
when I departed at sunset you were in debris of broken heart.
I’d have returned from the nascent horizon of sunrise colors,
if I weren’t afraid to slip and sink in your tears.
