Single Mindedness Poems | Examples

the days of future dreams

the days of future dreams the flames once rose high
           thinking our lives would end up supreme
           thinking our future seemed a far of dream
            but in the end nothing is what it seems

many times the winds of changed has blown this way
              one minute we`re lapping the cream
                    the next it`s all yell and scream

but now the ones who wave their banners high
        say they hold the future in their hand
               and tell me they have the plan
   to change the world...to change common man

thinking they`re rebirthing a closed and stagnant mind
         and know what's best for all these lands
       but do they have foresight to understand?

they just diss those that has gone before them
     but heed the experiences from the past
  they know what it was like to be steadfast
and that single-mindedness will not pass

       now our once ideals are
                                                    now stained

         and our river flows with the blame

"Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses"
- Confucius

With the flowing stream of my being, tributaries join
Chrystal clear or coal like black, I embrace them all gladly.
Each atom of my existence has been the widow's coin.
I spent not in richness but to give my mite joyfully.

I carry each flower that falls. Do I leave any leaf?
An ant or an elephant—every one I reach their shore
Single-mindedness in joining the sea is my belief.
Unity in diversity is the faith of my core.

Amidst threatening birds and beasts, are the jungles frightened?
Has the universe, for the sake of strange stars, stopped its course?
How many blossoms adorn each little temple garland?
Shouldn't I, ultimately, go to my primary source?

I flow on, amalgamating within me one and all.
I do not know, lo, who on earth is great and who is small.

Chakra midst the forehead; way to spiritual empire;
Symbol of complete consciousness and ethical umpire;
Disposition of enlightenment; corporeal world;
Integral unity; angelic wisdom within furled...!

Myths speak of Lord Shiva comprehending through his third eye;
He could annul ignorance; see yonder limits of sky;
The mystical clairvoyance is on; inner sight glazes;
Purple splendor like Amethyst; wisdom within blazes...!

Single-mindedness, precision, inspiration, insight,
Unblinking third eye is continually glowing light;
Perceiving the world sacredly; connecting to cosmos;
Within ever-shining divinity it does engross...!

Abolishing dubiety, vagueness and skepticism,
Uprooting adverse weeds of purposelessness and pessimism;
Gives coherence, assiduousness, spontaneity,
Leads to endless bliss; merging with eternal deity...!

Illusions

Wanting to be in the arms of love, longing from the
loneliness that time bestows upon the soul.
A reminder of that single-mindedness from the timeless pool of the void,
from beginningless time we have always been alone.
From some part of self, maybe the imagination,
and within that limitless power
The illusion of the many lives by the multitude all
coming into being, laughing, crying, hurting, and suffering.
"I", "Me", "Mine" - self-centered battling ego's
all dying in time

Much love,
Paul

Oneness

In the temple of silence,
Oneness, a single-mindedness.
The navel of existence, ubiquitous,
Our essence is all that.

It is only here, in silence, we find
That culminating insight, we realize
Our essence and the essence
Of the universe is one.

Night Lovers

At the dead of the night
When the sunset had turned red
Two lovers walk
Hand locked in hand
The moon arrived in time to write a story
The clouds darkened in desperation
The stars and galaxies gathered to witness

Two lovers naked and cold
Approach the sea
Ready to become lost to the world;
Found by themselves
Two lovers;
Single-mindedness
One goal, two bodies, one heart
The night belonged to them

Two lovers stopped at the shore
Lay down to a kiss passionate
Tears overflow
They feel every part of their body
For they know this was their last
His hands found her mounds;
Clutching them like a handlebar,
He began driving hard
She moaned
They wept,
Hugged and took a dive into the blue seas
Together

The Steam Engine

I was riding the railway tracks of my fissures
Deep into my darkest inner thoughts
Lost and dying in the snowfall of my winter
And back again
From a mental anguish like a splinter
Never slowing down to quench my thirst
From a desire to be first

And so you appeared... Mr. Coalman
Power to you, Sir!
And so I take the shovel of coal
To start the steam engine and commence my travels
Darker than the pistons you feed
To master my trade
I see the white in your eyes
I smile at the glint exposed further down

And continue like a rollercoaster...
On through the tunnels
On through the loops and slides
The shovel never leading my hands
With sweat soaking my shirt
feet never leaving my boots
Stubbornness of such single mindedness

I want to extend my hand to say
“Thank you! Thank you for everything
For all the warm nights
And safe journeys thus far
Over undulating mountain sides and unstable bridges

Just as you feed my fire
On this scenic journey,
A life still on track with the passengers I chose to bring along
For the ride you steer in spite of my doubts and fears”

Listening To the Silence

Listening to the Silence
(a tribute to the thought of Eckhart Tolle)

Unsought and arrow-like,
an instant happiness
speeds in upon the virgin mind
when all desire is valueless;
the choice of misery an incandescent now,
burning out without a warning, gasping
as an infant left to wonder
where the love is...

There is a way,
for there is silence everywhere to hear—
beneath the rocks,
beneath technology,
beneath the roaring vanity of lust,
and when the ear
will leave a space for consciousness,
there is an unexpected joy, impossibly defined,
a single-mindedness
that understands the now.

You are already on the path;
there is no need for time.
You will not find it anywhere,
but there within you is a strange one
that you thought you knew.
Sit down, and look him over
You have no need for clever thoughts,
for he is God...
and he is You.

Contagion

A Contagion is spreading, a virus older then the plague.
It kills much slower then Ebola; nowadays.

Not everyone can catch it but it will kill us all.
There is no cure for this virus, we must quarantine all involved.

The basic Symptoms are:

Insatiable lust and want, narrow vision,Irritability,Hypocrisy,Single Mindedness,
Apathy and Irrational Behavior.

Deadly Symptoms are:

Scapegoating,Recklessness,Disregard of Life,Theft and War.

If you see a person with this disease, do not approach them.
Call the center for disease control to have them quarantined.

This message is brought to you by those united against greed.
