Families, friends, neighbors, communities,
living in the land of liberty.
A nation easy to divide,
fed by smears, seduced by lies.
Emotions worn like fragile sleeves,
hatred finds a place to breathe.
A sickness spreads, unseen but loud,
echoed through the media cloud.
Even when the facts aren’t true,
they comfort those who always knew.
We fracture more with every feud,
distrust becomes our daily mood.
Arrogance floats through the air,
ignorance tangled everywhere.
We elect with hope, then watch despair,
do they serve, or do they stare?
Freedom to vote, a hollow ring
when sides refuse to shift or swing.
You speak your mind, you risk the cost,
mocked, dismissed, your meaning lost.
We’re growing colder, more confined,
trapped in one-dimensional minds.
Opposition seen as threat,
truth becomes what we forget.
And when debate no longer lives,
hatred is the truth we give.
Today September 10, 2046 was
Matthias and Shadir's day. Dolly
Came to wake Molly from an empty
Plate dream. "Wake Molly girl! On
Your feet honey I know you're hungry."
Molly laid in bed stretching, "Okay
I'm up! Ugh! What time is it." Molly
Shielded her eyes from the sun shining
Through the vast panoramic window.
"11o'clock come on I cooked. Hit
The shower stank rose." Dolly pulled
Her from the bed and pushed her
To the shower. Molly jerked away.
"Alright!! That's...I'm okay. Good job."
Go check everybody else. Let me
Be." Then she started the shower as
Dolly left. Delilah began inventory
When Mallory was done with her
Shower and full final morning preparation.
Molly came to Dolly, "So What's in
The pipes for today." Dolly reported
"First I'm doing Inventory, securing our
food supply."

"Sickening"
This is sickening
And quickening
Not at all, what I was envisioning
Nobody listening
Most chickening
Fidgeting
And limiting
Themselves to the point of being crippling
The effects rippling
And tripling
On top of it, we've got social distancing
Still dribbling
I've been chiseling
And scribbling
No matter what has been incoming
Pivoting
And occasionally grimacing
The temperature freezing, cold, mild or sizzling
The weather icy, windy, calm, scorching or drizzling
Clowns continue giggling
Petty people are still belittling
Over every little thing
Not all that riveting
It's becoming uninteresting
Sometimes I sip, sometimes I swig
Sometimes I flip the script
Even though sometimes it's rigged
Before opportunities are shriveling
And dwindling
Got to get it quickly
And differently
Meanwhile all senses are tingling
I can’t bring myself to go to my room right now
And I don’t expect you to see
But my room is currently dripping with things
That remind me to much of me
My likes and my history suffocate the air
Where my problems and hobbies abide
I’m sick of it all because I’m sick of myself
So downstairs is where I shall hide
Hide from myself and keep strong the illusion
That if I ignore it long enough I will find
It will disappear and hopefully so will I
after all, out of sight, out of mind
Isn't it crazy, to have such horrible thoughts,
Those thoughts consume your most deepest intentions.
And those intentions become so evil,
It is hard to deal with that sickening thought.
It is the retched mind of a lost one
Who defends his thoughts,
Those thoughts that contain such evil within.
What a sickening thought, to think of
When you don't realize, you think the same evil
That the intention has become
Sickening

The spins the spins
Such a terrible thing
I would get them every time I committed a sin
Lies & Mistrust
Turn into innocent little f*cks
Innocent no way at all,
You've been in love with him since last fall.
The minutes turn into hours
And hours into days
You suddenly feel as if you are in a deep haze
Two years go by and everything's still the same
If only things could go back to the more wonderful days.
We'll all admit that we've taken love for granted
But who's to say that some things aren’t worth second chances?
