Age can’t carry its carriage when,
No more gets born new courage then.
Age shudders to pen new page when,
Life gets peeved of post-passage then.
New dares are hard to engage in
When, past quests get sung in rage then.
Mundane move ways of marriage when,
No room, new romance to stage then.
Tired, living long life of rage when,
The old man turns unto sage then.

A leaf detaches
From some resplendent, green twig.
All Summer shudders!
-------------------------------------
The wind calling out,
Like a high, mewing buzzard,
Behind nearby hills.
-------------------------------------
Winter came around...
Slipping in beneath the door
As I lit the fire.

I went to see the old burnt out lightning tree.
To see what wisdom and guidance it had for me.
.
I've been drawn here, since I was so young.
Mighty oak tree, on the hill, so tall, so strong.
Many times spent here in play and laughter.
Many times spent here in silence, at times of disaster.
Struck by lightning and trunk split in two.
Damaged by humans, but still it grew.
Old and worn, it never shudders, it never shakes.
Never speaks, never judges, never does it forsake.
It listens to my moaning, it listens to my woes.
I tell it of an uneasy feeling, that runs from my ageing fingers, to my weary toes.
I ask for it's knowledge, I ask for it's advice.
I'm given reassuring grounding, I'm given a connection back to life.
It's comforting entwining branches offering a safe embrace.
Away from the constant running of the human rat race.
Like a child again, I sit up in it's perfectly green leaved shaped crown.
Now feeling empowered as it takes away my old worn facial frown.

It enters like an old friend
Too familiar to knock
Slipping in quietly
When joy is about to speak.
It frowns at others’ laughter
Shudders at joined hands
Sours even the sweetest moments
Like a worm in ripe fruit.
A plague, it spreads
Changing faces and shifting names
Hard to name and harder to cure
It hides behind our smiles.
It festers and grows into hate
A hollow in the heart we feed
Not with love but with longing
To be anything but ourselves.
Envy is the devil in disguise
Polite and persuasive
The root of quiet wars
And loud silences in the soul.

stretching hands
pointing out
blaming skies
yearning for the sunlight
without any ability
to radiate with own might
when it's asked for the rain,
it shudders; for blue hue,
its yellow beams remain
unfathomable during typhoon
because here at the center of storm
there is no swarming heavy rain's tune
the piece of ice flake don't seem to fit
the moment it dropped on the puzzle
just give it some time to melt in it
each ounce of it can surmise your yelp
the fog will block your horizon
until you finally uttered help.

We share our grief without language,
for we often cannot summon the words.
For our gestures give answers when voices fail.
Grief is shared many ways:
In a deep lingering, soul-searching gaze of eyes.
Gentle touches on arms or shoulders.
A deep long hug or embrace.
Teardrops shed with shudders and sobs.
Two hands gently cupping one with care.
Fingers brushing away the salt of tears.
Simple gatherings in sacred hush.
Soft subdued smiles, shared all around.
This is the sign-language of grieving,
that everyone knows, and feels without words.

Quote "To breathe is to live, and without breath, there is no life." — Lailah Gifty Akita
A breathless house wheezes
Winter looms with frost-laced breath,
this house shudders in anticipation-
Its narrow corridors wince at the thought.
These rooms have shrinking walls,
their windows wedged shut,
And doors refuse to stay open.
The air hangs heavy, like woodsmoke
curling through blocked flue pipes.
I do not breathe-
I sip air through a bent straw,
and when the wheeze arrives,
it’s like a violin strung too tight,
always threatening to snap.
Running was a rebellion, still is,
playing football, was a war of attrition,
With head covered by a towel,
hovering over a steam bowl for hours.
Today, I carry an inhaler,
like a priest carries a bible-
not always believing,
but when breath becomes prayer,
I reach for it.

She inhales the aurora,
breath laced with frozen with light speed
Pulsar fingers stretch through cirrus gauze,
her bodice bending like solar flares.
Astronaut
A quasar shudders behind her lips,
erupting across the event horizon.
Space folds—
she unspools like a nebula unraveling,
luminous in the underworld
aphrodisiac of your vanilla fragrance

Lightning flashes so brightly outside;
rain's falling fast and furious.
Feeling vibrations in my fingers
jolts loosen the window pane.
Delightful, but frightful, quivers follow.
Mummy shudders, shoulders and head;
Sissy covers up her ears.
I'm deaf, my other senses
eagerly expect something after sparks.
I wait and faces change.
Like a sudden tag game,
I see the brilliant flashes.
Sissy tags me, "You're IT!"
I can guess thunder's timing
just before he reaches base.

the pulse of humanity
shudders in throbbing pain
meanwhile muffled cries of hopelessness
await redemption as tears of time
may possibly wash away
man's devastation

Can make the horns of a devil
Look like the sporks of a crown.

Starvation is rendered flabbergasted
when in tinge
with a touch of reality,
retaliating
upon the mention
of thee who shudders
in a chair
positioned so high
only the clouds could reach it.

The most baby blue, two-storied house; baby blue chimney;
and milk-chocolate-brown rooftop. A whimsical triangle pine,
in front and ‘longside the home, seems to be atop a hill,
newly covered in pearl-gray white snow.
Spheres of snow, descending and ascending - spirited
prayers on Jacob’s ladder. Chimney, roof, house, and
fence posts dotted with drips of snow. Likewise, snow
shudders underneath the shutters eyelids.
Posts, of beige, baby pink, milk chocolate and tawny,
wrapped in holly berries and leaves; Coal-black iron gate,
more open than closed with crafted hearts.
Home surrounded by holly berry arch - perhaps a red cardinal
will alight and give a delightful nibble on a berry or two.
The pine and shutters, piquant. Ponders the apple of the eye,
stitched to the variance of woven threads, surely by foible,
needle and fragile fingers, not reaching for perfection,
but perfectly piques the curiosity for a poet’s meditation.

The stain under the couch.
Snores too much.
I ignore it, but I still don’t sleep.
The blanket shudders.
Because of me.
Grinding my teeth.
The raincoat in the corner.
It drips with blood.
And howls.
I had pizza for dinner.
And I always want more.
And more.
So at 2:44 am,
I lurk by the fridge.
The pizza talks.
We laugh a bit.
Don’t eat me…Don’t eat me…
I woke up again at 5:25 am.
I killed the pizza and ate it.
Everyone’s asleep.
I used to live alone.
Until they came to life.
