Children who shriek
The hospital machine beeps,
My knees weak, the walls are bleak.
I'm bitting my cheek whilst the ward doors creak
I can hear the children shriek, they look weak through a sneak peak.
Explanations are oblique,
These children will be me in a week.
There's critique of technique for hell week;
which is not for the weak.
Streaks of blood, dizzy from drugs
Staring

HIDE AND SHRIEK
A whispered shhh hung in the air
Tall grass rustled nearby
A slight sniffy, snorty snout sound
Preceded the crinkly crunch of dry grass
Sweat slithered across my brow
A large head appeared
Violently shaking
Hanging jowls jousting
Saliva arcing aimlessly
A growl ruffling the air
We ran
Screams scurrying ahead
Saliva spewing demon behind
Fear fueled our flight
Her hand thinly slipping from mine
She fell
The demon approached
We

Shriek
SHRIEK
As Edvard Munsch walked with friends
Across the bridge spanning Oslofjord
His sister’s situation struck a chord
Admitted to the lunatic asylum nearby
He saw the blood red colour of the sky
Nacreous clouds now hovering lower
Perhaps it was a symptom of Krakatoa
That famous volcanic eruption of late
And had an impact on his mental state
A strange overwhelming sense of dread
But

The Scream
I hear her
When, in stillness – peace,
She surrounds me with her promises,
Light, mist on the morning, hope
Lifting away all the doubt, the darkness
With a feeling, a soul stirring scream
I hear her
Beating, in rhythm – harmonizing,
She echoes in reflections of sweet joy,
Soft, erasing all the night’s stardust dreams,
Inspiring me to give my best, my heart
To

Slurp and Shriek Dancing Deep
I heard a prattling rattling battling noise
In my children’s room, in the midst of their toys
Slurp and Shriek
Dancing deep
A battling ram came out and gave me a peek
Was that a battling ram? I asked my imaginary friend.
She threw flowers on me and refused to bend.
Dived into the toys
Making even more noise
I had to drag her

With a Mouth To Speak, I'D Shriek
They say that walls have ears to hear
But not a mouth to speak
Though it's mostly for the good, I fear
For if I did, I'd shriek
Permit me to introduce myself
I'm a doctor's office wall
My length and width are twelve by nine
I'm round 'bout eight

Answering Shriek To My Left
In the woods no right of way, no right to live, no right to play.
I travel quickly, as dusk is beginning. Woods are thick, on this day.
Wood tick and spider heaven, I walk gingerly, on wet old leaves.
Dog has deserted me, long gone, chasing things she thinks she sees.
The air is thick, the sun is

The Shriek
It was time to come in from the cold
I am no longer young, I am old
My legs long and hairy
They creak when I walk
Once the talk of the town
But they now let me down
So I hide in the corner and nod off to sleep
When all of a sudden I hear a loud shriek
What’s

Shriek In a Shrouded Ship
Profile picture painted to please Jennifer Lopez
Smiles for miles to the dynamite of Taio Cruz
Sights, heights and flights into serene skies
Bereft of dour dues, hostile hues, cantankerous queues and bludgeon blues.
Laughter in a merry matter to flatter Nicky Minaj
No grenade on a serenade to degrade a flight to Bruno Mars
Urge age to assuage a morose

Seagulls Shriek Louder To Warn God
As men pledge allegiance to their demons,
seagulls shriek louder to warn God;
these creatures only have feathers
for clothes and don't feel a bit of cold!
How sullen the skies would be
without the presence of seagulls:
no shrieks, no flapping of wings...
and the saddest would be me!
I can walk to the breezy shore,
pick up a few broken seashells
ignored

Shriek
My blood freezes as their high- pitched
vile shriek echoes from the close by forest.
Every now and then I get a glimpse,
as if they roam in my house, watching over me.
At mid-night, very often;
They shake my bed roughly,
I sense as if someone is running down the hall way,
I hear someone, clawing on the

The Shriek
Arising before the dawn,
to meet the earth,
your honeymoon was over with innocent.
You start becoming extinct,
with stained excuses. Naked as a belief.
There was no contradiction.
An imitation will take over,
for the surreal tomb.
A gift of rain will fill the bowl
left for Buddha, who was still sleeping
with eyes half-open.
A sage grouse begins

Eiffel Shriek
My mouth is weak in gape
That night my eyes in gawp
The night of war in memory
Horrendous ISIS brought Paris.
Horror! The world in anguish
Bataclan Theatre in despair
Before Eiffel shrieked in anguish
The dead, maimed, the innocents
The glints of Eiffel now in glitch
Begrimed! 13th of eleventh month
As bodies in bags she sees
But cry not further, Eiffel
Borders shall

Dodging Hate's Siren-Shriek
Dodging Hate’s Siren-Shriek
by Odin Roark
He had survived
Six months believed to have made him a man.
Today,
He only wanted his mother.
Today,
Time was running slow,
Slower,
Stopping,
Begging.
Such hopeful beginnings,
Such bestial endings,
Caked fingers bear blood,
Water too precious

Hide and Shriek
Ten-year Randi Clay
Just moved into town -
The town of Fear Street,
Where horror pulls you down.
Enormous, gigantic calendars
She sees, hung on her street
On October 10th is marked
In red - ‘The Birth of Pete.’
She makes new friends at school,
And likewise - enemies too,
Who seemed to keep on saying,
‘Beware – He’ll get you! ’
Whenever asked “Who’s Pete?”
The
