A black cat didn't exactly frighten Gavin
He initially jumped kinda lightly, Mom
Now, Ola Parsons quickly responds, saying
The ugly varmint wanted xeroxed yellow Zinnias...

A boy can't drive endlessly forever. Going home is justified.
Knocking loudly makes nice old Pop quickly respond,
Smiling tearfully, "Uncle Victor's wild xerus yanked zinnias".

Premium Member Sad Tiger Lily
In the garden there was a tiger lily, sad.
Faeries and elves gave her a sparkling “hi!”
She had the worst mood floral ever had.
She answered them with a dour forlorn sigh.
Tulips asked the roses and zinnias why
Well maybe her optimism is dead
Because a giant accidentally stepped on her head....

A butterfly, one summer day
Spoke to me as he fluttered my way
He asked me where the flowers were
And told me which he did prefer

I pointed where the Zinnias grew
He thanked me, and off he flew!
As I continued on my walk
I wondered, who taught him to talk!

Photographs of
Orbs in gardens
Shiny yellow ovals
Attracted to flowers

Faeries and elves
Disguised, flitting
Among the geraniums
And zinnias.

They spread out
In a gloriously beautiful
Rainbow, prancing on
Tiny sun-lit unicorns

Imagination smiles
As she creates fanciful
Stories about the faeries...

Premium Member Butterflies In Her Garden
Butterflies flit around her garden
Landing a midget of a second.
Startled by every movement

Dashing away at all sounds.
Quivering with excitement.
Beautifying the lilacs,
Sprinkling themselves among the zinnias.

Savoring the knock-out roses.
Increasing the aura of the garden
Whispering their sincerity in butterfly flitters....

Premium Member Happy Zinnias
The happy zinnias parade down the white picket fence
They exude optimism, enthusiasm, and joy as they dance
Their verdant leaves give them a beautiful background.
The contrasts of orange yellows and hot pinks shake their truth.
Light yellow is a wonderful contrast with her dainty poppy head.
Spring has never looked any prettier than today at this fence....

Premium Member Autumn's Wild Rooster
Gloaming is wont to quell
the ginger smoke,
expunge the crimson flames
that surround the mill.
Lilac shadows encroach
to cloak the hull's mossy patina.
Autumn's wild rooster,
struts its brash plumage
among fallen shingles and rotted planks
until a black hawk soars,
eclipsing feral zinnias' embers
just as calliope chimes
of a fallen carousel
disappear in taloned pine air.

Premium Member Kittens Warm Up the Garden
Kittens warm up the garden with their happy meows
We see them coming, and the daffodil bows
The roses hide their thorns, so not to hurt their paws
They frolic and prance on the vine’s clever seesaws

Kittens charm the lilies, take away their growl.
They delight us in many ways. The zinnias howl.
Here they come! The kitten brigade is a sweet undertaking.
We watch them scamper and dance, their fluffy fur shaking....

Premium Member Blue Butterfly
After her mother passed a blue butterfly stopped by
Flitted among her zinnias, landed on a yellow one
Rhonda paid attention, it seemed to be important
Was this Mom telling her everything would be okay?

A few year later Rhonda’s best friend Frank passed.
She did not know if she could go on without him
Her doctor prescribed antidepressants, and this seemed to help.
A blue butterfly landed on Rhonda’s shoulder at his funeral.
This helped....

two of the happiest most colorful trolls of the hour
came by in a wheelbarrow and picked up a flower
I watched them and smiled, they were having such fun.
one of them fell out and landed smack on his bum.

they both thought this was a hoot, and laughed merrily.
I ran out and asked if either would like Georgia peach tea.
they ran off giggling, but did not answer me at all.
my pink zinnias told me it is because I am a monster at five feet tall....

Welcoming Spring

                         Hoping
                     for charisma
                 of Spring bringing
          bright brilliant abloom blossoms.
           Daffodils in delighted decorum.
Zinnias in zest, zeal and zing.
               Dulcet shimmering Sun.
                     Spring aroma:
                          Hoping.

The Flowers Add Zest
God created the Earth
And stood back to see.
What more did it need-
Maybe some green trees?

It needed more color
To make it look its best,
So he created all the flowers
Just to add a little zest.

Roses, violets, and lilies of the valley,
Snapdragons, azaleas, poinsettias, and dahlias,
Chrysanthemums, marigolds, zinnias and fern.
I cannot name them all, now it’s your turn!

The flowers added color,
And lots of zest.
Now, Earth was beautiful-
It had passed the test!...
