watered-down
yet toxic
shadows shout

jarring notes
discordant

the witness
eternal

Thoughts falling like sparkly tears.
Feelings soak through page.
Sentences flowing like streams.

Premium Member PIE AND PEAS PLEASE

There was a pub called the Cross Keys
Well known for its pork pie and peas.
But the watered down beer
Gave drinkers no cheer.
And the seats were crawling with fleas.

My Wonder Mother

From the crack of dawn to hours of late
She worked tirelessly for her brood of eight
Sweaty and exhausted, waited till everyone ate
Then watered down the curry for her plate

Can You Imagine Trump

Can you imagine Trump actually grieving
On others himself he is always relieving
Have heard is a watered down version
Of people who sex have a perversion
While telling lies that are deceiving.

The Stolen Horse

Why try to write like somebody else,
by others passion driven

A watered down copy, trespassing free,
to alien words you’re smitten

A copycat artist who mimics the sounds,
your voice a toast unbidden

While somebody’s pain and somebody’s joy
—the stolen horse you’ve ridden

Classic

egg yolk
watered down
lost taste through the words you
spoke. classic;
same thing so long
like breathing, strength never
known to the strong-
alone- confusion concerning
blood within the bone.
as time crawls over skin,
irritation interrupts,
disrupts the slinking passage,
coercing acknowledgement
out of sentiment.

a million thoughts in my head
none of them constructive or so it seems
even though it keeps me awake
peace needs to find me again,
just in case my coordinates are flawed
just in case my compass lost direction
I need to embrace my space

slip back into me

not some watered down version of what people need me to be

Premium Member The Flavor of Soup

watered down soup has lost its flavor ~ the broth is not one to savor

it's over peppered and there's too much garlic ~ sometimes vitriolic

nothing wrong with a little pinch of salt ~ but don't use words to assault

those who post AI should be put in detention ~ maybe suspension

don't ladle me a bowl of soup ~ if it's been tainted, and that's the scoop

"Americano"

filter-dripped
watered down
weak coffee

artificial

the mood
steaming diluted
swings lower, unfilling;

the wanting
lusciously dark
hot to the tongue

more rapid
complex in richness
animated

scalding and sharp

Expresso
piercing arrow
shoots straight to the heart.

Political Picture

Whole political picture proved to be pathetic;
Did need watered down version for diuretic,
For fluid to form,
Way above norm,
To be treated by Trump who once was a medic.

Trump lies about everything so he might as
well lie about this also.

What we wondered about was reaction,
We would find within a certain faction;
Stirred up pot;
Even when hot,
Hope it should draw much satisfaction.

They'Ve Stolen Your Song

What can it mean to a new generation,
  when lessons in history
     —fail to inspire

What can it mean to a new generation,
  when watered down values
     —keep dousing the fire

What can it mean to a new generation,
  as men hunt each other
     —their food sources gone

What can it mean to a new generation,
  when the lyrics are distant
     —and they’ve stolen your song

Lost In Dismay

Do you spend twenty percent of your time
  acquiring your beliefs

And eighty percent of your time
   in defense

Do you have blinders on
  about what you conceive

In fear of the critics
  pretense

Are your views narrow focused
  and then watered down

As the truth disavowed
  slips away

Is your memory tainted
  in times left to waste

As your efforts
  —retreat in dismay

Identity Crisis

Escapism
Not possible
Now, and half a
Lifetime over.

Your hauntings
Cannot be eradicated
Until I get what
I want.

Eyes brown,
Watered down.
As you continue
to hide from me.

Tail between
your legs, something
I've seen before.

Mirroring you
is a misguided
priority until
I release you.

I refuse to
Undo this knot
And your tongue
tied and twisted

I continue this
futile quest
for restoration.

Ode To Rupi

The sheep all feast on milk and honey
it's empty and it's meaningless but it's packaged up just right

Words of legends go ignored
in the shadow of this fraud
while the flock will head toward what they've been told to

Today everything seems watered down
the fakes have climbed the tree
it's all about who wears the crown
and runs from dignity

It seems the further back I go
the more treasure I find
treasure for the soul
treasure for the mind

Visiting a Dear Family Friend In Need of a Smile and Some Laughter

having to have eye injections each month,
i make her favorites for dinner
i remember when we could only afford watered down kix
she came with hot plates and shared her blessings and miracles
i put the plate in front of her
i then listen to a funny story (to her) about the "mud in my diaper"
she then asks me if i smoke
i tell her no way and i put that on display
she laughs slightly and says well good
i drive her to her monthly eye injection tomorrow

Premium Member WHERE ARE THE VOICES

WHERE ARE THE VOICES

Where are the voices,
against the swelling inflammations,

upon the watered down truths,
against God's Word in our nation,

Shall we continue in silence,
in the face of the demoralization,

Attacking freedom of speech,
We should be filled with righteous indignation!

Pastors, Preachers, and Righteous Leaders,
bring forth Holy Convocation,
to guide God's people back to His Word,
and our voices to the nations!

Half Truth

My parents gave me answers
that arced and formed a dome.
Outside seemed beyond my grasp,
inside I would roam.
So even while I freely played
-in some ways I was wild,
my parents watered down the facts
to facts you’d tell a child.
A rebel would-be lawyer,
I’d try to build a case
against the facts they fed me,
to keep me in my place.
I screamed, I cried, I argued hard
to prove that I was right.
My parents shook their heads in vain,
til I would sleep at night.

Premium Member Scent And Verse Trimeric

The Muse is a poem without words,
so much better to bleed tangerine;
Cover a page with its scent and verse,
squirt it all into watered down eyes;

So much better to bleed tangerine,
acidic bated breath will always burn;
Prose’s scar left behind for all time;

Cover a page with its scent and verse,
that’s enough to inspire a calling;
To cultivate the next is timeless;

Squirt it all into watered down eyes,
invigorating a dormant phrase;
Style re-spun to infuse a new one.

Premium Member The Life of the Party

Rising
sprawled
amid the carcasses
of demons quelled
strewn
like soldiers slain
spent munitions
drained of all their fire
their bloodshed pooled
puddles
of watered down
egos and woes

glisten

in the morning light

as hangover destined
in reflection
one half dead
and addicted
vain plan to abstain
finds itself
shot down

again

Bub-Bye

Early dims the light, bub ...
its stupor late upstairs —

Passion watered down

Wrong digits flirtini sip given,
gave you the last call snub

Jukebox jilted sound

Cabaret musical chairs,
bubbly dreams in a hot tub

Heart spinning around

Bleary ayes get a nay rub;
write finger, disconnect living

Club Xit underground

Party over, bub-bye ...
plenty Queen of diamond stares

Empty promises found

Lonely hearts lip tango in pairs,
but only one will cry
