bird feeder pole snapped in two
suet cakes gone-border collies barking
large furry forager departed- sated
She lay, lonelier than a stone,
hoping for company, any
company, but the only
visitor was Father Time,
come to say Goodbye.
spoor tracks

the virgin snow-
footsteps of yesteryear
echo in my mind

Brightening captivating greenish allure
Seasonal visitor like rain drops...
Leaving me always wanting some more...
Like Oliver Twist.
flash of yellow flight
a goldfinch lands on bird bath
the first visitor

.
A fushia in bloom
tempts a thirsty visitor
I sip my coffee
“When a cardinal appears in your yard, it’s a visitor from heaven.”

Daylight begins with a sweet chorus of angels with wings
Cunning visitor
From behind the garden shed sly eyes
observe the human condition. With tail held
high he retreats, pronouncing us unworthy of
further comtemplation
Sometimes, compassion seems alien; a rare visitor.
Within the waters of the human heart; compassion can be found.
A daily swim ensures that, compassion never disappears.
A bird sits at my window
passing the time with a song.
Where it came from -
I do not know.
Will it sing for me very long -
I cannot say.
I think today...
I will sing along.
A falling star,
that brightly lights the ev'ning sky.
A falling star,
a magic show without a par,
a visitor from way on high,
has brought a tear drop to my eye.
A falling star.
Our visit to Canada was all it could be.
We've seen Niagara Falls and the mighty maple tree.
We've seen the Natives in costumes red and blue,
But we still haven't seen an ice blocked igloo !
Quote By Writer "Death is a one time visitor."
Death always comes ~ sometimes quickly, some times slowly

WISDOM
Wisdom,
is like a visitor
That if welcome,
stays the night
But,
if not
Leaves,
while there’s still light

NIGHT VISITOR
that comical face
watching me – so unconcerned
while tabby looks on
a bandit raccoon
eating with his tiny hands
while tabby looks on
empty kibble bowl
every morning at dawn
tabby just looked on
A stealthy visitor to the top of the room,
A silent mover,
Black spindles from a oval orb,
Make eight comfortable legs to the bed,
Web chandeliers hang around it,
Holding the remains of previous lovers,
scarlet beauty peers
through my window each morning
her spirit returns.

Double negative is this creature
The head has negative electrons
The legs have negative electrons
Nerves are lightning conductors
But lightning is frequent visitor
Without thunder it strikes anything
At will
the cock made a call
phoning a clan of mankind
from the top of his hill
day is here our visitor
has come unannounced
let's dance with her
all the same from every
quarter with all manner
of dance-steps yet unknown

Love
Sometimes
It appears
Unexpected
Like a warm fall day
Like beauty in the wild
Like the first word of a child
Like a visitor with a gift
A gift you did not ask for but need
Like flowers blooming from well-planted seeds
Indigence and torch light might be beguiling to a visitor
When he aches for his anguish to deter
Chase tension and scrutiny avert
Yet enduringly rubbing shoulders with them hurts
Amounts to additional burdens and strains exerts.
I had a visitor today
A green humming bird flew my way
It hovered right outside the window
Looking in at me, while putting on a show
He has plenty of food to eat
It was just me, he wanted to meet (lol)

Who is the well known visitor forgetting
What a scandalous bit of gossip it would be?
Where privacy is not always very private
When the unscrupulous are so quick to see
Why not some filthy lucre just for me?
For Harry's contest
colorful doorsteps
as autumn knocks at the door...
leaves blown by wind's breath
