Temperature dip
urban leaves turned
Autumn, sniffing around
for a place to settle
no Farmer's Market
in San Francisco today....

When you suffer a lot
You take care of your own
1900 years on the run
without a land to call home

And now that we have one --
narrow stretch of arid ground --
Another excuse to 'Kill the Jews'
  the 'united nations' have found...

Are They Coming
Our hopes and anticipation
 Rise when we see
The trucks and helicopters from United Nations
Approaching our village that is merry
Tonight we will sleep on full bellies
The elders rush to the gate
 We rush to our huts
 To get our sacks

But the elders meet us with despair
On their faces and our excitement changes
To gloom and hope the heavens may
 Smile and save us today...

Holocaust Memorial Day
A brave believing victim of the Shoah said, 'God slept'.

Is it not true that God and Humanity were allies as the

United Nations Forces defeating Fascism - for ever?

Only the other day out of respectability I heard an anti-

Semitic remark. Alas, this old evil is not yet dead and buried....

There are times
You see in the eyes of a child
An Angel
Our Alice in wonderland
Through the looking glass
Even General Zia yielded to her charm

In our dreams she is ageless like the winds caress

Look deep into her heavenly being
See the seraphs eyes that lays a kiss upon you
Both young and old
See the hand that holds the poor
Listen to the voice
That united nations

Listen to the heart of Nazia Hassam...

Afterworld
Walking in the cold void,
Armies retreating in paranoid...

Families living in pride,
Flag honouring the patriotic souls...
Medals of honour for the call of duty.

Cold War marking the momentum,
Pearl harbour in the backdrop...
World War warning the after war...

Soldiers abandoning their rifles,
Survivors muffle the scuffles...

United Nations hoisting peace,
United we are,
Undrawn the divisions......

Water Fountain Sculpture
multi-cultural mecca
Farmers' Market at the United Nations Plaza,
San Francisco

water fountain sculpture
misting through the
jazz audience at lunchtime,
during the weekday summer concert series

poetry gives me new eyes
situated right in front of my
heart ~ sigh

A wiley seagull bathing
under a pressure close to a full
blast, water sculpture mist curls my hair

And I forget the littered alley I walked through
a second ago...

Mother Earth
Each man kills the things he loves
Given to man from God above

Mother Earth in all her splendor
Bowing to profits praise the big spender

Each day thousands die from pollution
U S stops a United Nations solution

Millions migrate from the patched land
Building walls an American plan

Hurricanes and drought across the globe
We make bombs with laser strobes

Death from the greed that capitalism breeds
Causing Mother Earth to bleed...

Afghanistan

Afghanistan, Afghanistan
Now ruled by dreaded Taliban
Evacuation at full speed
The world watches as nation bleeds
Guns and bombs and threats all over
Innocents die as death hovers

Afghanistan, Afghanistan
Who can save thee from Taliban?
United Nations cannot help
As terrorists begin to yelp
No soldiers protect anymore
Thy troubles cause worldwide uproar

Afghanistan, Afghanistan
Chained in shackles of Taliban.

What will this New Year bring?
Will we be able to laugh and sing
Instead of looking sad?
Will we see an improvement?
Good reigning over bad.
What can we look forward to,
Please, not some of the same,
Will common sense prevail,
Before we all go insane.
What will become of us?
The supposed HUMAN race,
Will our lack of HUMANITY,
Continue to come back to hit us in the face.
What can we do to ease this situation?
We must pull together,
To regain United Nations....

Premium Member In Response To Kim and Jack
The Royal limerick kingdom of Jack
Came under heavy aerial attack
Hellfire’s from a drone
Knocked Jack from his throne
And now he lies flat on his back.

But our Kim she wanted to be queen
And she done something quite mean
Got rid of Jack and Tom
With a giant limerick bomb
United Nations considered it obscene.

But others were after the crown
And wanted to take Queen Kim down
There was limerick queen Jan
From the Royal Isle of Man
Headed to the scene for a showdown....
