Now ruled by dreaded Taliban
Evacuation at full speed
The world watches as nation bleeds
Guns and bombs and threats all over
Innocents die as death hovers

Afghanistan, Afghanistan
Who can save thee from Taliban?
United Nations cannot help
As terrorists begin to yelp
No soldiers protect anymore
Thy troubles cause worldwide uproar

Afghanistan, Afghanistan
Chained in shackles of Taliban.

CayCay Godwin September 24, 2021 at 4:49 PM I wrote on 9/11 and later events because it's what writers are wired to do .That's what I see here - a spilling of fears and feelings written from the heart. This works for the contest, but a therapy write from your soul serves an even higher purpose than placing - it stirs others on their journey of spirituality and enlightenment. I missed many months on Soup, and you were one of the writers I missed most. Running out of box ... CayCay
