Inoculation

huge uninviting
near fence post low to ground —
maddening hornets
drive by shooting of spray can
            the window of victim’s steamed

Underneath Umbrellas

Unusually uninviting ultraviolets unleashes unrelenting unpleasantness underneath unique umbrellas,

uncomfortably upsetting us,

until umbra unexpectedly unloads ultimate Utopia upon us.

Melancholy

As deserted as this wasteland,
Endless, boundless, uninviting,
Where all grass and flowers have withered,
As a notebook with no writing...

 As deserted as this wasteland,
Where the lonely wind is crying,
As if it, on empty pages,
Writes the letters with its sighing....

Broken Vow

The stars won't shown tonight
The world is closed
In pitch darkness
The day you broke me.

The flowers in the field
Is gloomy to my eyes
Uninviting, disturbing
The day you quit.

The sunset turn red
A bloody beauty to me
Angry feeling creep in
Since the day you left.

Waiting

Waiting once again
Time seems to creep slowly now
Each minute blessings offered
Clouds sheer bridal veil
Dot the heavens, beautiful
Sun appears peeking through clouds.
Still waiting same place
Wind ruffles the limbs of trees
In gust of ferocity,
Cold uninviting.
A break, only gentle breeze.
Blessed life this glorious day

The Virtues of Canned Spinach

Lumpy, limp spinach
  so uninviting
Steaming spinach souffle
  so exciting

Popeye downed the first kind
  straight from the can
Olive never had to learn
to make souffle for her man

Cartoons implied: Canned spinach
  gave Popeye superpowers
'Course 'Wonder Bread' built strong bodies
twelve different ways in half an hour

Sails Torn

Sails torn

Grasped and rent
in the storm
from the ashes
to be reborn
...
We burst
A new and see
The trust we trust
Quenches our thirst

Your breeze, heaven sent
In the strong a fire burn
No flashes
An uninviting storm

We thirst
To truly be
In ourselves
Seeking trust

I have, there, I went
Lowly borne
Hoping to pass
Avoiding the storm.

Death

death is the closing door of thought,
threshold of serenity
the soulful paths of cordiality
it is perfected for unerred sorrows
the conclusion of life
at uninviting time
the flickering hopes of cause
the cause of fingers rising eventyally from ****
the cause of having hands shoved back in deep muck
the dimming flame of candles the blown out storm
the saddening peace of perishing dreams.

Sidewalk Stepper

The power lines stretch across the sky
moonlight makes a shadowed place uninviting
as a blinking street light
has trouble making up it's mind
what's a daydream called if it's late at night
apart but we're currently immersed in
the atmosphere of a city breathing it's vibe
I'll meet you there
if you'll remember the same place the same time
and looking above us
the power lines
stretch across the sky

A Trip Through Ireland

In the distance a figure walks,
resembling a shadow as he grows more remote.
He turns only once to view my perspective of him through my camera lens.
The streets are stones and the lane is narrow.

We are by a church, in which there are statues
to be deemed, cloaked in a subtle wide darkness, for the interior
with all its incense and ornaments, carpeted red and the walls vanilla,
is as uninviting as the retreating man.

My camera clicks.

Dizains and Triolets

Dizains and triolets are somewhat similar,
Although triolets are a tiny bit slimmer
And I must admit, the triolet is repetitive
While the dizain rhymes are competitive.
I am inclined to write these poetry forms
Because they follow rather strict norms,
And force upon me discipline in writing,
When the thoughts I have are uninviting.
And when I cannot apply either, or worse,
I tend to slip over and employ free verse.

Silence

Silence Beware the silence in your head, Best check to see if you are dead, The words are there but nothing said, Blood does flow, still bloody red, Prospect uninviting, Sandgoannas are a fighting, They want to eat old Fred Don Johnson
if you're dying in the donga, by the shores of linga longa, and the dingoes howl cos tuckers on the way, and the crows are circling yonder, upon a feed to ponder, but the Goannas have it covered here today:)
