O, For a Plenipotentiary
Would that we had a plenipotentiary
(Would that we knew what that was)
Perhaps we'd empty the enemy's penitentiaries

The cantankerous old Mr. Muffet
spoke nonsense and lies from his tuffet.

I would never insult him, go stuff it!

We Eat Red Meat
we eat red meat, fish, eggs
and plants for food
we cut down trees to build our homes
in the twenty first century
history may look upon us
as murders, cannibals,
and a savage brood...

Modern Convenience
We are never alone
if we have a cell phone.
When we ride or walk,
just pick up the phone and talk.
In the twenty-first century,
it's a convenience for you and me.
inspired by another member's poem.

Every Age a Legacy
Every age has a legacy
humans of before our age
lived, died left legacy
The humans of Christ’s times
lived, died, left legacy
of Christ crucified
The humans of the Twentieth Century
lived, died, left legacy
of two World wars
Humans of the twenty-first Century
are alive, will die
What legacy shall we leave behind?...

Is this one of the sins of the twenty-first century?
Is this one of the sins of the twenty-first century, increased tenfold by social media affecting relationships?
Have you been uncouth or met one of the uncouth?
(Adjective: lacking in good manners, refinement, or grace.)
:
Infidelity
Well, I guess I'm uncouth
I lied
And didn't tell them
The truth

Nothing Has Changed Your, Wicked Ways
Over two thousand gone by
Still trying to figure out just how
Another can take the life of someone
Whom raised their dead ? Or decapitate
His baby because they didn't condone such
Evil as taking perhaps this greatest love her gift
Left languishing amid deja vu's, twenty first century....
Lexicon's litter less majesty: altars volcanos venom subtle....

The Devastating Storms
Early in the twenty first century morning
No sooner had many got up and had breakfast
Than began the eastern devastating and murderous storms
Fiercely at speed and in powers
Are lasting for long times non-stoppingly
Murdering the victims and devastating the towers,
The waves spread to the west, the north, the south
And all over the world
To shake all
All are shaking yet....

Like a Twenty First Centrury Schizoid Man
As angels dance
overhead
and do battle
with dragons
We wait on the ground
for the bombs to fall
It seems that we
are
"Twenty First Century Schizoid Men"
as that prophetic song says
Leaving cherished hopes
to die in the flames
We try desperately
to be on course
And
I believe we will be
though it may take a while...

O Jesus Gods Symbol of Peace
O Jesus! It’s the era of tech!
O Jesus! It’s the info era!
It’s the twenty-first century –
You are supposed to come down
We have started the count down
Ten Nine Eight Seven Six
Five Three Two One O!
O Jesus! Take a look at us
You are our precious omnibus!
O Jesus God’s symbol of peace
You are what we now need and miss!
O Jesus! Come down on the earth
Make it a place of peace and mirth....

This Started As a Tritania For Titania In a Midsummer's Nights Dream
Start with an obscure form of poetry,
a female role in Shakespeare comedy
to find yourself in gender politics.
With changeling, colonial politics
mask anonymity in poetry
add subjugation into comedy
To mix sixteenth century comedy
with twenty-first century politics
without doubt produces bad poetry
Poetry comedy and politics

The Circus Bear
I hate the spectacle that makes a man of beast.
How can money make such a beast of man!
A bear in a tutu dancing for youyou,
balancing on a ball, riding a bicycle for a biscuit,
and [I imagine] bearing the whip, caged
by drunken clowns with their pants down,
and a man in a top hat twiddling his mustache
belongs in the woods.
It’s the twenty-first century: clowns are sad and the top hat is out....

Reminisce
The gutters flood with debris
lost receipts, tossed paper cups
dead leaves
I jump puddles
and duck into a dry setting
the strong scent of coffee
assaults my sense of smell
I see minor twenty first century poets
huddled in a corner
typing away on their devices
laughing at their own wit
I write in a little red notebook
with a pen
Stuck in the last century
child of the 80's
born in the 70's
growing old in the new millennium...

Blood of Ox On First Aid Box
Imagine you opened First Aid Box
And, of all things, saw the blood of ox
While you’d wanted to help your Small Pox,
Would it you panic to leave your pocks
Or would you for gloves try your two socks
Or to gods try to sacrifice cocks
Or off speed in the manner of Cox
After reasoning things out like a fox?
Ox blood-stains on all sides of The Box!
Whichever you choose, not what one mocks:
This is The Twenty-First Century;
Much caution in handing injury....

Still Happening
Two little children,
Sat on a curb in the street,
Begging for money
No shoes upon their feet.
Is this really happening,
Are my eyes deceiving me?
How can it still be happening,
In the twenty first century.
Why is it seen more often
In these faraway lands,
When the rich are in their mansions,
Tourists drinking cocktails on the sand.
I don't think God intended,
This is how their lives should be,
When we was born upon this land
We were all born " equally"...

Be love for all equally,
Be ubiquitous humanity,
Be happy noise,
Be sympathetic civilization
All the pens of the world, the words of the world’s all languages
All benevolent deeds
Be only religion in the world
The new sunrise of the twenty-first year of the twenty-first century
Let it bring the cure for eternal peace,
Let it bring the divine light of panacea
In all the walking paths of this life
Let there be good luck
