For nette's Whispers of a muse contest
As the days pass, so does our youth,
but memories that were made
have been like a treasure trove of jewels
that have been sewn into our soul,
hidden away and treasured.
It slays without drawing a drop of blood
In an instant, turns reputations to mud
Its eloquence sets the innocent free
A serpent's weapon, resides in you and me
Guardian of a treasure trove of words
Pink slashing plasma, mightier than swords
Imagine your life as a masterpiece
With no limits on who you can be.
Imagine your life as a treasure trove
With no limits on how you can grow.
Imagine your life as a day renewed
With no limits on what you can do.
What would your imagination see?
And how different can you be?
A reflective lake shows no fish
But you know they’re there underneath

Thirst for a passion fitting like a glove
Fond art thou so of mean lucre love
I’d put you in my fairy tale; we’d scale a giant stalk.
Heaven would be our journey's end; a treasure trove of love, our gold.
But even magic beans would not have force enough to grow your heart.
