Cast your bread upon the water
          if you like it soaky

As for mine it’s in the oven
         ‘cos I prefer it toasty

On a wintry day
The snow fell several hours
Shoveling wasn't easy

I stayed toasty warm
I paid two kids to shovel
And... I gave them hot cocoa!

A True Fire

to make a truly toasty fire
one must gather bare branches
from wooded fields.

what is a fire
without a crackling
but just a warm
and very sterile thing.

she is toasty warm this year,
uneasy about relinquishing summer

in life’s pause
                    when boots are kicked off
               snow drifts, melts
          the hearth blooms
     with its blanket flower flames
toasty toes chill out

Pop Art

Carbonated popsicle prose
Oh it glows with fun
Sudsy taste bud delighted
Splashing wonder wheel
Frizzles on the fountain tongue

A message to the stomach it sends
Fuzzy feelings and warm midnights
A toasty surprise in the storm
Keep it close my friend

Premium Member Early April

Afternoon sun
toasty warm
basking in beams of light
a newborn wrapped in a quilt
clearest of clear blue skies
flawless brush strokes
not even a slip of a cloud...
as the sun dips toward the horizon
a cry escapes baby's lips
I can see her breath

Premium Member Warm Me Up With Your Heat

Put me in the rotisserie.
Warm me up with your heat.
Let me turn golden brown toasty.
Bite into me ever so sweet.

Lull me with your fireside ways.
Hypnotize me with your love.
Warm memories ‘til the end of the day
When I rise to the world above.

Umbrella

Sun is out of sight
Clouds are out to get me
The day has just begun
But the weather will be nasty
The only thing that gives me hope
        Is my poka-dot umbrella
It keeps me safe from threatening rain
It keeps me dry and toasty

Premium Member Toasty Santa

Down came jolly Santa, lickety-split
not checking to see if a fire was lit.
He shot out of the chimney
while dancing a fast shimmy-
His job is oft harder than he'll admit!

Toaster Bed

Toaster Bed
I’d like to buy a toaster bed,
of the boldest red.

Happily,
it would heat me up toasty hot
and butter my backside,
before projecting me out
of the bed and into the shower,
at a designated hour
each morning.

Where shall I place my order?
Bloomingdale’s
Or Neiman’s?

                                   Bright sunny buds break free
                              The joyful task of Spring
                       Blossoms on bush and soil
                 All unfold their fists
              Stretching fingers
Toward the toasty sun

Snowy Day

The world has turned white
Everything looks so bright

Snowflakes are drifting round
Slowly towards the ground

All the neighborhood is silent and still
Except for the children playing on the hill

Cold wind rushes
Birds huddle in bushes

Icicles hang from the wires
Inside is a toasty fire

Everyone is cozy and warm
Safe from the winter storm
