snow on his head
fire in his bottom
hot potato in his mouth
thorns in his feet
preparing for marathon
with teenagers
A lotus in mire,
A rose amid thorns,
A cactus in desert,
A creation in derision,
A song of beauty
Born in adversity!!
Form:
soft bed of roses
evokes dreams of happiness...
yet beware of thorns:
opinions, overthinking
can often lead to sadness
Memory;
It’s what makes me human;
Sometimes with thorns
But it is the only way,
To touch the moisture
Of the human form;
Lately God has been showing me close-ups
His cross right in front of me
His face, his thorns
His eyes
My heart

Two thousand green leaves
I need to love you, said clouds
I gaze on my thorns

RUMINATION OF A ROSEBUD
Spring imagines
the thorns in her stem
why provoke far season

OF ROSEBUSHES AND US: A BEAUTIFUL AWARENESS
Like the rosebushes,
our lives have petals and thorns:
God growing us on:-
Desert thorns that sting.
Careful desert animals.
Both have great instinct,
Finding safety together.
Not permanent for either.
LOVES SONG TO YOU ABOUT TOMORROW
Plant dreams of me on feath’ry pillows
Dancing thru thorns—we blossom
Dawn into periwinkle glory
alleviation
of rage can be achieved in
plucking thorns, splinters,
and shards of glass when the chance
arrives -- very cathartic.
In life we deal with
swoops and loves,
which are the thorns
and flowers that we cultivate ...!
A brave open heart
aghast at the strength of thorns,
the fragrance so sweet;
Hand holding a shy flower,
roses in love bloom longer.
I fear my monster
Powerful and beautiful.
With her deadly green thorns
And two piercing green eyes
She screams for me to let her out.
Printed curtains
(billowing rose
with a light behind
& a garden scent)
& if they are not roses
(at least)
they have no thorns.
ROSE BUSHING LIFE
(A Haiku Alison Sowed & I Reaped)
Let’s be as roses,
Life lived with petals and thorns;
Surviving its vase:-
Notre Dame erupted in fire
Ghosts gasped in the funeral pyre
For the Devil's horns
Are the Crown of Thorns
Held fast by an angelic choir
TORN
Gentle is the rose that has no thorns
Perfect is the flower that can't burn

Caught in branches
Struggle but thorns dig in deeper
Wait for help

In the dew of dawn
Black thorns become pink rose leaves
Grey foes orange friends

As important to the rose
are the petals of its flower
so too
are the thorns of its stem.

Picked before you bloomed
your loss brings me to my knees
playbacks run too long
remembrances felt so strong...
slipping now into my dreams
stoic expression
though prickly thorns stabbed her breast
silent suffering
lingering sorrow
memories drift unbidden
closure is denied
beautiful pretty yet are the violent roses striking spiking piercing thorns
