"tears"
You can't sweep up tears

nor can they be blown away

                                                 only held and seen....

God Said What I Should Do
God Said What I Should Do

God said what I should do with broom,
Would be to sweep up all of my room,
And look clean;
A cool scene,
Where bed bugs always do like to loom.

Same Now As Then
SAME NOW AS THEN

I feel the wind sweep up the brae
And find I’m looking far ago
The stars of Christmas are long away
Some two thousand years or so

Darkest evening of the year
Is my family safe from harm?
Reach hands to the warming fire
Is the baby keeping warm?...

Door To My Mind
There is a door to my mind
It is open all the time
Waiting for words of kind
Hoping you say you’re mine.

As I travel through rivers of sleep
Hearing you call from the deep
I sweep up the words you speak.

When I am alone I peak
Through the door I seek
These words from you I keep....

Blahh
She'll tear out your soul and shatter your heart forcing you to sweep up the peices while she makes her depart, and you'll forgive her but only for your own personal satisfaction of knowing she's no longer a distraction, now able to rest your mind in paradise and start forgetting the disorientating lies...

Shattered
I am but glass, you have but broken
With words both shouted and unspoken
You throw me up against the wall
Just so you can watch me fall

If I'm cracked it's not enough
I must be shattered to show your tough
Grab a broom, sweep up myself
Put my pieces on the shelf

Search and search to find some glue
Don't worry I'll be good as new...

Blow
I want to take away your pain and blow it away into the wind.

I want to blow off the dust covering you and make you new again.

For we all get dust on ourselves once in a while, just like a floor gets dirty,

But this time I will sweep up your dust.

That way you will be new in your eyes even though in my eyes you have always been....

Premium Member Pumpkin Girl Is Lucky
Pumpkin girl has swept up a large cat
Are you sure it was not a bat or a rat?
Oh, no, my friend, it was a furry feline pure.
It was meowing and snuggling and nesting for sure.

Pumpkin girl always gets the best breaks.
I always sweep up lizards, toads, frogs and snakes.
Why should she be the one who gets a kitty?
To add fuel to the fire, she is incredibly pretty....

To My Beloved One
You came when I silently called you.
After our first meet I loved you.
Then a second and a third followed...
You stayed and so my heart you borrowed.

I pray my days you'll warmly embrace.
I pray I'll wake up seeing your face.
The feelings we share can't be erased.
Time can never sweep up our place.

I chose your kind love to be all mine.
I chose you to be my Valentine....

Goodbye
Times are ticking, clocks stand still,
Yet memories flood, and flood they will.
Although the past comes trickling through,
The future is present with things to do.

Though hello is easy to say,
Toward departure I'll have to sway.
For holding up my conscious gloom,
Is no good to sweep up what is doomed.

I have parted, parted I will,
No one can make the clocks stand still....

Premium Member Shipwreck-
The flipped his float
 it cut its throat
it fell on his head,
Maybe dead
until the boat
clean trumpet & horn each note
 clarity boom boom boom
Sweep up the splatter with a corn broom
What have you got to lose
I guess it would have been safe if you took this trip
On a nuclear powered rocket ship
Flight to the Moon ,Boom boom boom

Today and Time Past
TODAY AND TIME PAST

I feel the wind SWEEP up the brae:
SWEEP I my gaze into far ago.
FAR the stars of Christmas are, long away
CHRISTMAS some two thousand years or so.

YEAR’S darkest evening is here.
HERE is my family - safe from harm.
FAMILY hands reach for the warming fire,
HANDS at travail in this hill farm.

Premium Member His Jacket of Patches
You'd see him out in the early morn
He'd sweep up trash others scorn

       a smile on his face
on his lips an old song
       his jacket of patches
       with the elbows torn

He'd greet you by name
Shake your hand if you'd time

Never asked for a hand-out
Not so much as a dime...

This winter I'd missed him
   Trash everywhere

Seems no one else noticed
   ~ Seems nobody cared...

Warning
Dear Family:

Just a note to let you know
as I was sitting on the can
I accidently
by drunkin forces beyond my control
broke a glass
in or about where you may stand
Now in my defense
I tried to sweep up
Dammit, I did the best that I can!
But
Be hyper alert
please keep your eyes peeled
for little, teensy pieces of glass
Cuz, if and when I wake up
I know I'll feel bad
If you have glass in your ass

The Winds of Saskatchewan
THE WINDS OF SASKATCHEWAN

They blow miniature drifts of summer sand through your car door crack
They sweep up the fall leaves faster than any broom or besom
Their hiss in October tells you, “Hey, winter’s coming, just listen!
They send hard snow drifts across the road to surprise you on a dark night black

But

The perfume of the wind hints that spring is here, and flowers
The smell of the breeze after two month’s drought says, “At last, some showers!”...

Built Up
I sweep up the dirt but it is still there.
Soon the handle to the broom breaks.
What am I supposed to do?

I decided to leave it there.

Days and days the dirt gets bigger and bigger.
Till it injures my Health.

Why didn’t I stop it before hand when I had the chance?

I try to use the broom again but it keeps breaking and breaking.

Then I finally allow myself to get help.
I allow my hands to help me out.

I guess we all need a helping hand.
When things become BUILT UP....

Premium Member Everyone Has A Different Reality - Who Am I To Say

Is it silence that the mind concieves a formulation for all that has been seen Or could it be in the cauous where one manipulates the scene Could you turn down the grandeur and pick up a piece Can you lift up the curtain and sweep up the seeds Climb a stair to the attic to see what's been missed Paint a daring picture from your favorite list Lose yourself for a moment and finally confess Weld all the pieces and present your true self

Resudue
some late falling leaves
are too dark to be visible
they crash through the night
between the creaking jaws
of a chill sky

train wrecks happen
when no one is watching
people fall out of planes
into empty fields
life collides with its own loneliness
is nullified
into countless zeros

you can fall
into a dead space unnoticed
and where you would expect
to find floor
a flotsam tumbles unseen

in the morning
you sweep up your remains
closing a door softly behind you...

Many Miles
You came tumbling
Diving into my yesterday
Freeing my spirit
But hanging me on every word you said
Feigning emotion
Then piercing me to shreds
And I have broken pieces to sweep up
While you make yourself whole
Oh you wily one
Feasting on your daily bread
On the very blood of my soul
How can you breathe?
Living like a thunderbolt
Yet
So cloudy in my head
The world will not be at your feet my dear
And I've walked many miles away from here
Many miles away
Many miles away...
