Such a great Tanka dear Kim and very clever. Clever title too. Great imagery and artistic chosen words. You have captured the scene so well with the use of gems. Really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you a wonderful, jolly Christmas. Hugs and smiles :):)

Oh my, this tanka is bejeweled with such elegant use of gemstones whilst creating a poignant image when one's treasury things are stolen... Those last two lines are very impactful dear Kim.. I absolutely love this tanka, so creatively done within such few words!

I particularly like the last line. The sorrow we face when someone takes something we appreciate using force and theft. It helps me remember that material things are not as important as the spiritual feelings we have toward each other. Thanks for the moment of reflection.

I’ve never attempted a tanka, Kim. But if I can come close to this, I’ll be happy. Nicely illustrated. Terry

A brilliant Tanka, my friend. I've noticed that the smash-and-grab, or mob looting, is at an all-time high in this country.
