A woman her name was Suzanne
Who liked an all over suntan
When stripped off on view
The truth we then knew
She showed she was really a man.
Two tiny birds flirt on the edge
of a stone bird-bath - they dip and drink in unison
A flower floats - his love offering.

Today Suzanne will wear a red tutu costume her mom made for Halloween,
her baby rosy cheeks will seem two roses of a garden with a satin sheen.
Neighbor's gossip carried like stones in the wind.
Glass houses shatter.

My first love was called Sue Heather,
I thought I’d love her forever.
We kissed and came to grief:
With braces on her teeth,
She stapled my lips together.
The clouds have on the blush of dawn
And birds give voice to early morn.
Now spreading light pulsates with life
With joy another day is born.
