It Takes Courage To Escape

Her courage became wild stallions,
Stampeding on bronze-stained dirt.
They were untamed,
Their manes
Thick with fearlessness.

Not Sure Where

Not Sure Where

Not sure where conversation is leading;
Found horses out in a field stampeding;
Must and may,
So sad to say,
Christ on cross to death was bleeding.

Buffalo Clouds

Buffalo Clouds

Buffalo roam
The skies today
Hides of white
Touch of gray

There’s platypus
Pegasus
And
Hippo too

But it’s the Buffalo
Stampeding
Our skies of blue

PARDONING HELL
(Red Monday Justified)
It’s one thing forgiving those who have erred.
Criminal and criminals a free herd:-
it's another to grant then clemency;
Their injustice stampeding you and me:
Hell, what a term this is going to be:-

A Little Lying

A Little Lying

What is wrong with a little lying?
Making up excuses and alibiing;
Around in circles always leading;
Never together and are stampeding;
Understand reasons are hard trying.

Premium Member The Leaves Are Stampeding

The leaves are stampeding the yard
run flying toward the west
wind changes her mind, throws them in a new flow

Like robins, rising from the ground,
they are flowing north now
Looking like frightened sparrows.

Such a graceful dance,
They laugh as they spin and fly

Familiar storm - stampeding, impeding,
drawing in colder days, lighting up
monotone skies, winterizing holiday rise.

Thoughts of yesteryear - their existence
unclear, relegating nonsensical notions,
subjugating my mind - celebrating life.

Storms

Thunder crashing
Sounding like a million stampeding horses
Lightning lighting up the sky
Like the torch of a god
Rain splashing against the ground
Drops so big a mountain must’ve cried
A symphony of sounds
The sounds of destruction
Fear
Sadness
Loneliness
These sounds strike awe and terror in the hearts of the beholders.

The Ghosts of All Those Lost Tomorrows

"The Ghosts of All Those Lost Tomorrows"

voiceless Munch seen laughing
when all the ghosts of those lost tomorrows
come stampeding into dreams
like a forewarning, carrying the colours
of their ever changing empathy

jokes
seen through
kaleidoscopes

of dead others

I invite all human kind
to shun Trumpeting Towers
because they are irrelevant
to all MeWe things therapeutic

And because
my depressing blues songs
and green signs
tell
and retell
ultra-nonviolet me

we don't feed narcissistic
angry red
rabidly stampeding
ballistic elephants

Cuz it's not healthy
nor resiliently wealthy,
compassionately unwise.

Thunder Alley

God's rolling bowling alley . . . . . .

Rumble, rumble, rumble - CRACK!

Stampeding horses hooves - dust storm's chorus

Then back and forth rolls into white tornado

Twisting warm and cold, hard hail rains down

To the ground and lifts a truck to the roof

Rolling, rolling, rolling, rumble, crack, BOOM!

Sweeps like a big broom and dust is everywhere.

Red Light

Ominously yellow
Tranquility shatters
With its explosion
A hanging threat
Against my spirit

Energy saturates
My body
Excitement builds
A dash for
The intersection

The engine races
Spurred by my
Heavy heel
Flight begins
Stampeding forward

Yellow changes
Danger Red
Breathless now
I speed underneath

An alien horn sounds
But safety once again
Restores my judgement

Panic

My heart beat hastens,
like a herd of butterflies taking flight,
stampeding my stomach.

Unable to explain the need,
burning like a flame,
consuming all thought,
deep desire, a soul on fire.

The compulsion exists.
I can't resist.
Must continue, persevere.
A change of venue,
gotta run, escape,
evade this unknown beast.

Hanging on by a yarn,
imbedded fingers on a cliff,
below, a never ending abyss.

The Thunder Rolls the sultry June afternoon drips with sweat as the impending tempest approaches the sun struggles for its last breath of light and an eerie stillness hangs in the air the prairie denizens have all taken shelter as ominous slate grey clouds rumble across the plains from the southwest like clouds from a stampeding herd and in the distance thunder rolls

Sleep is such a precious thing
Now I lay my head,
Close my mind from worrying,
Count some sheep instead

I drift off into my dream...
Hubby starts to snore !
Not again!! Well, I can scheme,
Ewes and me at war !

Sheep stampeding out the door !
A panic stricken flock
I've pushed hubby to the floor
A frantic man in shock!

Suicide Note

The deep wounds and scars of the past
The rigours and torment of the present
The blurry and scary pictures of the future
Like a stampeding Buffalo have destroyed my morale
Leaving me in the cave with the serpent of risky thinking faculty

With depression I have struggled
With thoughts of suicide I have wrestled
Guess it is time to gain freedom from this burning and tormenting pain
Guess it is best to end it all now...

Alarm Clock In Jurassic Park

Roar of a snore
Heard it before
Intense urge to wiz
Felt the call that is
Awake too soon
So far from noon
Early to rise
A primal surprise
An annoying jolt
Stampeding down Jurassic Park
Up all night, pitch black dark
Toss and turn
Oil to burn
Seething at the snort
Restful slumber to abort
No excuse for this abuse
Ring the alarm, light a fuse
Snored awake, sleep do shake
Awful Fright, this late night
Pitch black dark
Jurassic Park

UNSTOPPABLE

Angst of the world
Stretching and pulling
Pounding with fury
Like stampeding elephants
Like snatching crocodiles
Tarzan is not the hero of this story
God looks down upon his footstool
We are like feathers to be plucked
He lets us fight the air we breathe
He let our world quench his last breath
Resuscitation exploded the theory of evolution
The big bang created an unstoppable movement
Our march toward Christ

Night Riding

A long night folds inwards.
Fast breathless dreams run together,
old stories retold
absent of beginning's or endings.

Between them
lucid periods, when the mind
reviews many fleeting scenes
seeking reasons or even
a prophetic forecast
to hang tomorrow upon.

The house creaks
as if he were walking the floor,
but deep within a suffocating bed
he is chained to tumbling thoughts,

while a hard riding night
ties him down upon
a stampeding rocking horse.

A Disappeared Flock

It nearly was a rude shock,
When I cursorily checked the lock,
Looking beyond the first block
And saw not a sheep in a once stampeding flock:
The security there by many judged “A Rock”,
That would the painstaking efforts of robbers mock
And rather produce them in some dock,
If not that day, after the crow of the Earliest Cock
,,, All in a matter of repeated Tick Tock!
Which shepherd could bear a disappeared flock?
But, Alas! Looking back at me is a disappeared flock!

River Knowledge

The river is not wide
but it is violent,
it funnels down from the mountains
like a running horse.

You can park your car
at 'Overlook' landing
to watch the river stampeding.

If you're a local
you know that
there's white water ahead
before it leaps over
'Baker's Falls."

Beyond that cataract
your parked car
forgets how to chase down roads,
you have to reset the GPS
urge it to backup,
it's like it understands
that only the river

knows where it's going
from here.

Fluttering Souls

Flutter
                               Look up I see
                      Their souls flittering past
Down here smell carnage, hear clink, slash
neighing a warning, another one falls
Crunch of bone- stampeding to death
                      Screams of dying horses
                           Take me from here
                                     Flutter
