Uncontrolled, a yearning, burning flame
Scorches badly, earning spurning, shame

Ignorance is bliss
My house is burning
Ignorance insists
I not go learning

Ignorance persists
I'm not through yearning
Ignorance exists
a lot to spurning

A delicate balance to maintain
    He carves out his position against the grain

  Spurning extremes, clinging to the center
    Scorned by all, ridiculed forever

To what Party would we be turning;

Freedom Without Discipline

Spurning Russia’s repression
   or China’s suppression
What’s left to stop
   America’s digression

The Church lost its hold
  Morality put on a blindfold
Freedom without discipline
  produced violence internecine

Hatred

Crackling, sizzling, spice
Feelings of hatred, anger entice 
Spear made with fire ice

Splutter, spurning, roar
This volcano does outpour 
Feel my anger soar

Dancing, enhancing,
This anger everlasting,
Sorrow spell casting

colors of doubt

o this immortal, mortals tab god.  
what is a deity to whispers in odds, 
ordains frivolous gall?  
and what say, god, of global appeal’s  
pious prayers; 
spurning collaterals of zeal,  
  the allowance of suffer in 
war pales?

Day and year is turning,
Even my face is burning,
Nothing past is returning,
So my thoughts are churning,
Either way it’s concerning

For peace now I’m yearning,
Others today are spurning,
God is all discerning.

Feeling

Once to love, much to tears; denotes the journey
Throughout the years; to find the space, the 
Special time, mankind pursues with plans designed
Unsure is oft.' there are ways and falls, spurning the proffered
Doubting all.' In passing thought I cast opine 
Let chance into play, ere the curtains fall..'

Teaching

Great
      Teaching 
     Requires a
   Desire burning
Not a mere paycheck
   To be earning--
    Not Spurning
        You or
          Me!

          Our 
       Teacher
   Engages Minds
 And Hearts As One
  Bringing together
  All Class Members
     Challenging
       You and 
          Me!

Incubus

My incubus, dark visitor,
draining my love by night,
spurning the day;

Yours is the shadow time when
hypnotic kisses
declare love and make promises
that dissolve with
approaching dawn.

My lover, my vampire,
shed night's mantle
and share with me the day.

The Queen

She prayed for a stallion,
But got a mare
She cursed not the gods for spurning her wish
Instead, she found the mare a stable
And lo, a beautiful stallion sired the mare a foal
That foal is now a stallion every groom clamors for 
For out of him births another stable 
She understood seasons, she overpowered time

Head In the Soon-To-Be Desert Sand

Climate churning, quite concerning.
   We go right on oil-burning,
Science spurning, undiscerning, 
   Old-time habits not unlearning,
Profits earning, blindly yearning
   For our carefree youth's returning.
.....Little hope for tables turning.....

Spurning holy matrimony
Gangs canceled the ceremony
   Poor Tony fell with a thud
   His face covered with blood

Maria arrived seconds too late
Pure love turned now to hate
   Mourning her lover's death
   As he drew his last breath

Might I'm wielding,
Coping dealing...
Blight unyielding,
Prying, peeling.

Writhing turning,
Twisting churning...
Mindless  yearning,
Lauding, purring.

Stomach keeling,
Curdling, reeling...
Now  repealing,
Good sense of being.

Thoughts  reverting,
Sleepless,  spurning...
Legs-a-stirring,
Nae adjourning.

Whipping wheeling,
Grip congealing...
Hope that  healing,
Smites these feelings.

The Way of the World

Thinking in our reasoned light
No answer blocks our say.
Running from towards the night,
We carry on our way.

In our gloried human right
We worship sun and day,
Spurning thoughts revealing light
And carry on our way.

Heedless in our hopeless height,
The heretics we flay.
Running downwards in the night,
Our golden glory gray.

Through cold fog and blighted sight
We barely see the ray.
Truthful and forgiving light;
We tarry on our way.
