O, I'm Popeye the Sailor Man
Olive tells me I yams what I am
I likes me spinach in an omelet or souffle
'Cos that's how the navy prepares it today
   O, I'm Popeye the Sailor Man! (Toot-toot)...

Premium Member The Virtues of Canned Spinach
Lumpy, limp spinach
  so uninviting
Steaming spinach souffle
  so exciting

Popeye downed the first kind
  straight from the can
Olive never had to learn
to make souffle for her man

Cartoons implied: Canned spinach
  gave Popeye superpowers
'Course 'Wonder Bread' built strong bodies
twelve different ways in half an hour...

Listen to poem:
du coin de l’oeil
j’ai cru te voir ce matin
        ton visage tes yeux
        ton air ta démarche
ça m’a coupé le souffle
 j’ai figé là
croyant te voir tourner
les yeux vers moi
        j’aurais tant voulu
        courir vers toi
        te sauter entre les bras
j’aurais tant voulu que ce soit toi

It's Pie Day
There's something I can't figure out.
It's divisive, if I may.
A never-ending question about
Why today is called Pie day.

I won't mince words, I cannot lie
Crusty as I may feel
I've always enjoyed a piece of pie
A nice addition to a meal.

But why celebrate in March today?
Pie is eaten all year long
A circular dish, a tart, flan, souffle.
Or have I the answer wrong?

Some other meaning must lie beneath
Oh well. Happy March fourteenth.

Naked and Naïve
Naked and naïve
it’s time to bereave
your bedridden soul
for which ravens toll
You wear cynicism in
on a placid sunny day
melting a turquoise sky
into a saffron souffle
Your derision derides
the emptiness inside
digesting a child’s core belief
with your apocalyptic grief
So filet those frailties
with that phoenix in your fray
by flapping that acrid ash
far, far away
Then bathe in a turquoise sky
on a placid sunny day
as you stand before that child
naked and naïve...
