Hizbiz

Shut away from the world
Hizbiz found a ghost curl'd
In his breakfast plate
This might be a bait
"An enticement", he snarled

Free will

love whispered
come hither
let’s entwine

ego snarled
brewing angst
as thought forms

our free will
makes a choice
how we live

My Way Light

snarled sunbeams pour down I don't know where it will pass~ It still lights my way

In the Deep

a snarled subconscious
       conjures cumulus demons…
            waking in wreckage

The Beehive State

A young girl with ants in her pants
Was doing a strange kind of dance
We yelled, "Take 'em off!"
She snarled back a scoff:
"Its Utah! That's nowhere near France!!

Aliens All

Alien Captain Darth Veeder
Texted, "Take me to your leader"
He met Donald Trumup
And snarled, " What a grump!
You must be The Sludge-brained Tweeter!"

Summer Nights

Drifting darkly, memories swirling upward
snarled in spiders' frightfully webs spun, hoping
peace comes soon with fierceness. Her anti-venom
saves me from bug bites.

Jurrassic Park Is Frightning. In the Dark.

Dinosaurs have always been cool.
They crawled, snarled and baited
and raped, and stole and the others.

We'll never know what they are
but Jurrassic Park was close.
remember the snarled acid spitter?
It hocked in Newman's face.

The New and Improved Normal

The locusts yet screech after dawn
While the buzzard cackles from his perch
The red sun's inflamed in the morn
   Snarled traffic pauses to lurch...

Staring into the abyss of an angry rush hour
~ Workers from home take a shower

Why Are They Not Called Balletrinas

There is a smudge on my wall
sometimes its a face in grimace
the next half a ballerina mid pirouette
sometimes a gnarled witches snarled portent of hell
or tree of palm sliced by sickle moon
others an alien gun complete with hum
or a rose half begun

Stitching Skies' Stories

mountain ridges of clouds
  o'er my windshield spread
interspersed, baby-blue patches
  brilliant spaces, like threads
stitching skies' stories together
  a hobbled glance ahead of
cars tethered to a
  snarled, honking freeway,
blustery rage moving in, I dread

Travel Tanka

By air, land or sea
people have longed to achieve
some fond memories
mostly still travel by car
dire straits wont get you too far

Snarled traffic delays
driving round the holidays
sit and grit your teeth
you watch gas tank go to "E"
bladder bursting at the seams!

Beneath

In the darkness
breath turns to pant
that shift of weight
beneath the linen gaze
As she takes her throne
Curving back
brings teeth
to neck and ear
Forbidden words
are snarled love
Breath held
From adoring eyes
as muscles pull her downwards
struggle to remain
the slave beneath her pain

Wood Walk

Snarled with moss sap
lime green and cocoa
burnt autumn carcass
still stained blood and red
Lake of desire
in silver and mirrors
skimming off thoughts
better left with the dead
Coldness of tree tops
reaching and wrought
lilting bent iron
broke open with breath
Photograph moment
stiff brackish and white
a portrait of every
dream in it's death.

Drowning In Grime

Sinking into the soil of his egocentric ocean Snarled and sniveled the cephalopod mollusk Since to be worthy of his charming prey Sensation beaming from his passion blasting Suspending her from being aware of drowning Stunning to sight her lapse into squandering Sloshing in intense sadness and deceitfulness

Tornado Jim Competes with his Sister

Tornado Jim was an unruly evil F-5.
He barely left anyone alive.
Threw cattle and tractors into the air.
Crushed combines and backhoes; he did not care.

Gloated that he had destroyed more farms than his sis.
She gave him a mean finger and snarled with a hiss.
Next time she destroyed, she vowed to be worse than him.
She was always in competition with Tornado Jim.

Ssssss

I gave she snatched I asked she
sassed
I shared she stole I begged she
snarled
I smiled she spit I came she split
My turn she skipped I caught but
she sliped
I agreed she'd shift I saved she
spent
I stared she snubed I lead she
shoved
I touched she spooked I rose she
stooped
I liked she sulked I'd hide she
snooped
I errored she saw I'm quiet she
squaked

Trying for a Better Daughter

Their daughter was not nice
She was a mean girl
They had mis-parented her
By allowing her to be in charge

It was too much for her
She was spoiled, disappointed and angry.
She growled and snarled at them
They were the enemy – her parents.

So they built a robot.
This daughter will be perfect they said.
But they spoiled their daughter robot too
She poisoned their food

The Witch and the Prince

the old witch, wicked?
had yet to be determined
lured five brave men to

her wedding bed and
five less brave men down the isle
of divorce. was it

the long scar down her
crooked nose, wiry long hair
streaming off of the

dark mole on her snarled
lower lip? Was it her huge
hips, nasty morn breath?

we will never know
for now she has found her bliss
the prince placed the kiss

Watching You Unhinge

You know not about fear
       when in the spotlight of
your rage
       snarled in distorted
ugly

your hatred
       twisting
       my unguarded spine
stunting small bones
   blustering
        bluffing
concealing weakness
       too plain to miss
as
      you pound down
walls
      and
      hammer
ineffectively on
      my resolve
to
leave you
to
  your
      own
creation

Commerce

The snarled monogamy
needs a firework.
A solitary moon walks on a lake
nonchalantly.

The marriage
between the planet and moon
was falling apart.
In amphora lies the secret

of a jeweled crown. Cynical
berries were searching
a quartz to find the truth of the bush
where the colors were mixed.

There is no further news of
half-crazy stars who became
pretty girls to start trading
their shines.

A Drunk Goblin

From a dark pumpkin snarled out a goblin,
Hobbling, wobbling, said he flew from Dublin
And thundered me to gobble
A blended red scotch double
And demanded a bottle, wrapped in poplin.

Frankenstein

Abused and abandoned it's so clear
From the streets he did appear
Obvious, it's trust that cower him in fear
Herman no Frankenstein's monster is he
Just a puppy with wants and needs
Gentle this little giant, causing hearts to bleed
Black eyes of ebony from which his soul you can see
As like fleece his golden hair matted and snarled everywhere
Fond over is he by those with empathy
Lucky, was I when he chose me

Dissonance a Forked Tongue in Cheek

Listen to poem:
You sound like a fingernail
dragged over a blackboard.
Every word cast as blackmail
from a forked tongue in cheek.
Bathed in the vile, bile of diatribe,
masticated to be flung as dung expelled.
Your snarled words reek with
the dissonant cadence of discordance.
As your eyes flicker
from side to side with lies,
you look away, unable
to face me, eye to eye,
unmasked,
unshielded,
nakedly exposed,
in tune tonality,
truthful.

November

It is an old drama
this dissappearance of the leaves,
this seeming death
of the landscape
great in a later scene,
or earlier
the trees like snarled magicians
produce handkerchiefs
         of leavees
out of empty branches.
And we watch
we are like children
at this spectacle
        of leaves,
as if one day we too
will open the wooden doors
                    of our coffins
and come out smiling
and bowing
all over again.
