She Must of Been a Crescent Moon

She must of been,
A crescent moon,
The way she shimmered,
And glows,
With the Autumn hues,
Her love,
Luminously sweet,
With the palm,
And maples trees

Snow at Dawn

Slumbering, I dreamed that
sugar crystals drifted softly from pink sky
till sunrise, when I awoke, and
sweetness greeted my eyes.
As if sifted by angels,
it shimmered in winter’s dawn.

My Love For You

I fell in
Love
When I
First saw
Your beautiful
Eyes
They shimmered
In the sunlight
Like ice
Sparkling
Your lips
Are perfect
Light pink
Heart-shaped
Lastly
You
The perfect
Girl for
Me

Sea of Diamonds

As the morning sun
Shone its warm light
on the cold, green grass, wet with dew
It shimmered like diamonds
And I thought to myself,
It is a beautiful moment
To be paying attention.

Shimmered In Daydreams

Shimmered in daydreams Twilight fades the dark skies as sunset weaves its light into my weary heart – shining hope on the edge of a glistening horizon calling to me from beyond a saltwater shoreline – shimmered in daydreams as my thoughts of her refuse to rest

The Gibson Stradivarius:

in "Angels & Demons" you wept softly,
shimmered your strings in a supine grace,
reached warmly over the edge with
a tremulous honey vibration
rising in crescendo, dripping into shadow,
then onto a deceptive cadence;
your amber rhythms stirred the inchoate
with a chord seared by sweet lament –

Dawn Awakened

Dawn awakened and replaced the moon
Empty, the sky where once stars were strewn
In repose, Luna slept after wandering night skies
and spider webs shimmered in the light of sunrise
Dew glistened like diamonds on the fragrant rose
as a gentle breeze billowed my sheer nightclothes

Late Dawn, and a Fishing Bired Blinked

When the sun had melted straw to gold and dawn had shimmered, out of its platinum dream-mask, then the lank kneed heron allowed itself to blink once, however, the darting minnows were too small to care much - they knew the tall still bird, had no use for scraps of silver foil.

A Piece of Heaven

Silent midnight, crescent moon overhead
Molten silver shimmered on dewy grass
Tender jasmine and vibrant marigold
Danced with the gentle breeze
As softly it caressed my sleepy cheeks
Resting on his warm loving shoulder

Fathoms

the shimmered gaze

          had drowned to dim

               once deep, the ways

     one yearned to swim

lost now, love’s words

          he’d dreamed to kiss

               those lips ne’er heard

     from death’s … abyss.

Hope Is a Journey

Hold on tight to this dream
it has feathers
that I found under the bed
where a princess lay her head
while her pony
waited shivery silver in the moonlight
at the edge of December
beside a laughing stream
that shimmered the thirsty
stones and said...
hope is a journey
best begun alone
alone alone alone.....

Old Flame

I saw him standing in the street
he so vacant eyed and weak,
refused to see me as I passed
For I recall the summer last,
when fireflies shimmered in the stream
and he had promised me a dream
before he set his soul on fire
with mistresses of white desire
and now his ashen face decries
the way a burning passion dies.

Dancing To the Song of a Loon

Dappled light shimmered from a golden moon, and peered into a grove of bent willow trees. Arched branches swayed in a gentle breeze, as if shadow dancing to the song of a loon as she warbled the lyrics of her mating tune. July 15, 2022 Bite Size Poem No 49 Contest Sponsored by Line Gauthier

Debts Paid

Pieced together thin slices
like a slivered moon
mosaic
cobbled snapshots of splendor and pain

Fractured glints of crashed boundaries
uncollected past dues
mingled souls’ shredded fabric
a patchwork insane

shimmered moonglow does knock on
your window each night
poke your nose through the fog
and unlock the safety chain

Hibernation Is Done

The moonlight shimmered off
The new fallen snow,
Across the field walked
Two baby deer and their mother doe.

The beauty of the sight
Overwhelmed me with awe,
And, oh! More majestic!
You would not believe what I just saw!

A whole mess of animals
Running to have fun,
To gather in the center,
I guess hibernation is done!

Colours

Red,
The summer sky is red,
scarlet ,
furious as my fathers face
after another one for the road

Blue,
the sea is blue,
shiny, shimmering and cold,
my mother, bejewelled, always shimmered
but to me she was cold

Black,
The night is black,
unwelcoming,
all consuming
turn that light out and stop your crying
black

I Wish I Was A

Coral Bell was a dainty, delicate faerie.
She often wore the colors of the sea
Her iridescent gowns shimmered
Sparkling with pearls and rhinestones
Reminding the mermaids of ocean waves
I wish I was a faerie, said a mermaid, to herself.
I wish I was a mermaid, Coral Bell thought.
Neither realizing they were perfect the way they were.

Luna's Pale Light

Light shimmered on the lake at moonrise, with a breathtaking view that glimmered. Beneath the glow of Luna's pale luminance, the night was calm on the banks of the firth except for the cooing of a lonesome dove, who thirsted like me, yearning to be loved. Hot Times

After landing we sat there
Waiting for clearance
to taxi down to the hangar
For about a half hour
Twenty of us sweltering
In hot Tulsa sun
Inside a closed stifling plane
Then one stupid jerk said
Open the damned hatch
It’s hot in here
The crew chief smiled
And opened the hatch
Did you ever see an open
a furnace door?
Nothing was in focus
It shimmered

Blessing Star

Your black hair shimmered
I knew not the reason
I watched it every little season
My heart and head simmered
Your shapely body twinkled
As if never would it be wrinkled
Yet it had a little lesion
Which never ever rankled

You were my heart`s queen
Those organs of sight
Just witty and bright
They caught me off guard
An angel is all l had seen
I zoomed heavenward!

Perfect Autumn Dawn

Perfect autumn dawn Beyond the fields a’ slumber where silent breezes flow Along a vast horizon, a shimmered amber glow In wishful colored ribbons, adrift upon the sky So beautiful this moment as morning wanders by While dew drops gently glisten out here atop the lawn It’s you I will be loving this perfect autumn dawn Good morning Soupers

Shadows On a Pearl

Like shadows on a pearl You entered my life At the darkest of times Surrounded by darkness And the coldness of a tough life You shimmered, you shone You caught my attention made me look up And hold my head a little higher Even though you have your own shadows Your brightness helped guide my steps To a life a little brighter.
