Dawn Awakened

Dawn awakened and replaced the moon
Empty, the sky where once stars were strewn
In repose, Luna slept after wandering night skies
and spider webs shimmered in the light of sunrise
Dew glistened like diamonds on the fragrant rose
as a gentle breeze billowed my sheer nightclothes

You really know how to pack it in, Lin. Six lines fully packed with imagery and description. Go flow to go along with the rythum. Bill

Every once in a while I find a line I wish I had thought to write first " spider webs shimmered in the light of sunrise" This is one of those lines.

I am so grateful for the visits you gave my poetry this morning. Thank you, Caren. I think I favor that line, too. It was one of those that didn't take an edit.

Yes, it does, Tom. I have one to post a bit later about the setting sun....It seems I have tunnel vision at the moment. Thanks for your well wishes for a good weekend, and I hope yours is a dandy one, too!
