Dead Roses

Dead roses on the doorstep,
whispers of love turned to silence;

the memory of your smile,
moments that shimmered like the dawn~

lost in shadows of the setting sun.

I felt twinges of sadness and grief as I read this poem, one that's captivating in its brevity.
