Digging For Money

For what is hard, to find in the ground
and something so rare, for people to hound
why is this shard, worth a pound
it just has a glare, for the rich to be sound
Form: Rhyme

Something

It will be said that something glee about something
    is better
  like woods matter
 the world we share
 a family so dear
   neither break shard nor asunder?.
Form: Limerick

Sand

Gold
glass falls,
open palms
dropping each shard
like stars flung out across the universe,
lost to a shining abyss, a cosmos
of warm secrets,
forever
castles,
gone.
Form: Tetractys

Premium Member Night Messager

A moth in the night
Finds a shard of window light
Hovers there awhile...
It rattles the window screen
My eyes lift, to see the moon

Premium Member Heart Shards

I often tend to fall into love so fast and so hard,
Even after my own heart is broken I pick up every shard,
Because my love is meant to be shared and not be something I guard.

Broken

i feel the pierce of each tiny shard wafting through air as that glass shatters in echoes against walls
my blood splatters the same as it falls down
i am fine...just musing...

Shard

Packing up
with nowhere to go.
Feeling out of control.
Realizing everyone around me
had me as their piece on a board.
Now that I know
what do I do with that?
Feeling in control,
still with no place to go.
Can't move, I'm stuck to the floor.

Shards of Glass

A thousand words in every tear
an essay down her face
the girl that's staring back at her
looks such a damn disgrace
she puts her fist right through the glass
and picks a tiny shard
then drags it right across her flesh
till anger turns to calm
Form: Rhyme

Gaze

The victims lined up
all of my internal organs
the shard of her
plunged into each
leaving scores
slowly dying
when cold entered
my heart I
grasped the blade
and withdrew
along with it
and when her gaze
tickled the wound
she didn't find me there

The photo I take of you
Does not capture you
Or define you
It is a colored shard
Of the stained glass window
You are becoming

The poem you write
Is not your autobiography
So much as it is
A bread crumb
Helping you find
Your way back
To who you once
Were

The Other Half

let it grow inside,
consuming the flood.
this broken shard
will reflect the whole.
if shadow gives
light to life,
this pain, this confusion, this strife,
this truth, lies & life,
nothing but an illusion.
it all depends on where
you stand & which
direction you look.

under foot a pebble, no
opposite toe scrapes it off
crimson sole and toe
shard of glass missed the dust bin
and both feet caught the action

spouse to the rescue
bandaids and antiseptic
blood dripping on floor
socking up; putting on shoes
standing for the next three hours

Caged

Confined, slowly lightness vanishes
Darkness engulfed me
No longer at peace
Tatterdemalion mind,
Has curved me into shard
As I try to escape my mind raddled
Feels like I'm in hoosgow
Slowly hope in me fades
I wait in aweary
Haggard,
Hopelessly,
I am caged,
Within my mind

Insanity

She came to me.
So far, yet so near.
I knew her face, I knew her voice,
but who she was a mystery.
I found my self wordless.
I found my self without fear.
Her face forgot in, her voice unknown.
And then I knew.
Broken.
The mirror shatters.
Each shard a piece of me.
Each reflected memories.
Form:

Dead body

It's too cold for angels to fly up here,
It's too windy to raise a fire.
Explosion?
I don't know her.
And she doesn't care who or what she destroyed.
Life is just like a shard of frozen gold,
Coveted most when it cracks and ends.
Pardon me for being so bold,
But in the end even beauty here stinks.
Form: Rhyme

Bad Monkeys

Cacophony of chaos
Screeching through the night
A barrel-full of simian rage

Nearly human primate hands
Smash, throw, rend and tear
Destroying at random

The mark of primitive destruction
Stamped on every shard and scrap
A monkey nightmare
Spilling over into reality

A trace of humanity
Perhaps?

Simple Short

An elephant met a jellyfish on a train and admired the colours on display. Here was obviously a shard. Here was a shine. Showing a bud. Bugling sound then. Vaporised vigilant vipers videoing. And a dust. Distinguished dust. How great. Name not a nautical number. And give no gibbon to a garden. Xxxx polarisation z

A Thousand Mirrored Fragments

The special love we once shared
Has gone forever, disintegrated
Smashed into a thousand pieces
Impossible to reassemble, beyond repair
Shattered into a thousand mirrored fragments
Each piece reflecting back another painfully memory
Stabbing at my heart like hot needles
Each shard a reminder of your betrayal
Form:

Thousand Shards of Glass

A grey area through which we trudge
A thousand arcing shards
Sol, dust on the rift of illumination
A thousand cut-throat shards
Forever lead astray by the light
The boundaries of truth
Oh so tyrannical
Uncontested
.
..
...
Tick, tick
The bell to resound
The fangs to arch in
For a rogue shard could ne'er defy

Premium Member Queen - Anacreontic Couplets

Among wild weeds a rose blooms, perfumed with elixir fumes. Butterflies visit with glee, sharing nectar with the bee. Was ever a petal born? That would leave beloveds torn, not from its shard like sharp thorn, but its sweet splendour in morn. If it could be evergreen, in my garden it'd be queen.

Watch Her Break

Scrambled legs
Tingling fingers
Grayscale of concrete.
Shimmering metal
Dancing air
No energy to deplete.
Rasping breaths
Stomach twisted
Into a crumpled bow.
Quietly shrinking
Girl in a dryer
Shriveled lips of snow.
Lurching throat
Dried up tongue
But nothing will come up,
Scarecrow arms
And glass-shard legs
Are never thin enough.

Premium Member Sugar and Glass

Occasionally, the sugar cubes
were overshadowed by shards of glass.
Nighttime was for praying for another sweetened day

Decades blew away like gulls on a hurricane cay.
Back and forth- sugar and glass-glass and sugar.
Washing it all down with an astral grin and wooden prayer.
With much practice, you couldn't tell the crystal from the shard.

Elegy of my wishy-washy world country side

Because I must not always cannibal or bubble or haggard
like carnivorous animal like a brave vampire like a brave
maniacal rebel like a warehouse wolf?.
Sometimes imagine how mermaids is governing water
or is swimming thus to the world - a - the- stranging?.
Lest me lot or lol the stone unknowingly tis shard
    though bogger?.
