Red Floor and Out the Door

under foot a pebble, no
opposite toe scrapes it off
crimson sole and toe
shard of glass missed the dust bin
and both feet caught the action

spouse to the rescue
bandaids and antiseptic
blood dripping on floor
socking up; putting on shoes
standing for the next three hours

Dear Kim, I could almost feel the sting through your words — but also the quiet comfort of love rushing to the rescue. A tender reminder that even in life’s small pains, care makes all the difference...Hugs

I hope the toes are recovering. I enjoyed the lighthearted bravado but I feel the Ouch.

"shard of glass missed the dust bin and both feet caught the action" -- Great writing! Poetry is everywhere, isn't it. Not a speck of opportunity should be wasted. Knowing you, you probably let it bleed until the poem was finished, and then did all of the other stuff:)

This is in need of feet to lean on something/someone. Different, deep :) but ouch!! "shard of glass missed the dust bin and both feet caught the action" that's flawless, however
