Shards of Glass

A thousand words in every tear
an essay down her face
the girl that's staring back at her
looks such a damn disgrace
she puts her fist right through the glass
and picks a tiny shard
then drags it right across her flesh
till anger turns to calm

I think the rhyme softens the harshness of this, yet it still has a weighted punch to show the emotion. Well written, Kind Rgds, Laura
