Cher
Cher,
Love everything about her, especially her hair.
She sang about a scamp, a camp and a bit of a tramp.
She’s a V.A.M.P. Vamp....

Apologies
Apologies to the little scamp
who marked on the edge of good humor
who spread his mess on the wall
Apologies to the blubber
mouth who ambled through a whole
half-decade
Apologies for the half-whispered
"shut up" spoken to lipstick queens
with too much attitude....

Gopher named Ray
a gopher sat on my toe today
sassy and saucy, his name was Ray
What fun do you have? The scamp asked me
I rocked my toe, so he could see
Do that again, he goaded me
I teeter-tottered him to my knee
Come back tomorrow the gopher said
He blew me a kiss and my face turned red...

On Painted Grass
On painted grass you scamp
where once the bluebell toll
lying low—
enriched in addended exaltation
Hushed tan mixed within yellow
shadows spot the sentinel
lonesome—
clouds pass too slow
Last morsel of magnitude
left to track inside
scamper off—
the sun is left behind...

Scamp -78 Quatrain-
He's such a cute little dog
enjoys it, when you play around
his chew rope he loves to hog
loves being wrestled to the ground.

Scamp -Haiku-
He loves bumble bees
try to get him to leave them
he gets stung, too bad.

I try my best to get my small dog to leave the bumble bees alone, because he likes to eat them. They have a hard enough time as it is. He acts like he's stupid when it comes to eating them or leaving them alone....

A Scampish Little Rascal Was He
A scampish little rascal was he.
Dancing truth on the silver sea.
Collecting nickels for his fee.
Slapping his tummy at the baby’s knee.
Singing loudly with yellow chickadee.
Using phrases like wanna-bee.
Living in sin was the key.
We called him little Dicky Dee.
Lived every single second with glee.
Was a friend to all you see.
Lived to be a ripe ninety-three.
What better scamp could ever be?...

You Get the Rub
They say in the Bedouin camp
The Geanie is really a scamp
Sure, he’ll grant you wishes
Of romance or dishes
As long as you’re rubbing his lamp
When I read this story I knew
That none of the story rang true
For I had an uncle
And he had this furuncle
That he said would grant wishes too
But according to my loving Aunt
The only thing that thing would grant
Was a wrist with a sprain
Then she tried to explain
I’d go on but I really can’t...

Mischievous Month
February, that small scamp
Greeted us with warmth and cheer,
Tricking us into belief
Spring is premature this year.
February whistled and
Winter answered to his call.
Arctic winds from frozen north
Caused the mercury to fall.
Some were tricked to early prune,
Taking February's dare.
If prized plants succumb to freeze,
February doesn't care.
Spring is much to wise to trust
February's flirt and tease.
She'll delay her entrance for
March's warm and trusted breeze....

rascal
villainous scamp
the ultimate bad boy
scoundrel who gets all of the girls
leaves their broken hearts all over the place
others pick up broken pieces
satisfies girls a bit
still pining though
rascal...
