Notes About The Poem

8/31/2025 for The Pirouette Poetry Contest sponsored by Suzette Richards

Whet Appetite

Whet my keen appetite?
Yes, you have - for revenge
against my long standing,
wry, furry nemesis.
He's not wet...
yet. Blast a
water jet!
Get that scamp
to regret.

Congrats David. Cat or dog? I'm guessing rogue cat that chases birds... Around here some of the birds chase the dogs and cats (magpies and native miner birds in Spring). J :)

Good one, David. Reminds me of a lady I saw driving the geese off her property back to the lake with a hose. Congratulations.

He looks like one of those guys who used to laugh at me while he took a bite out of all my avocados or ate all the seeds in the bird feeder.
