Cal Flitter dumps litter in haste,
Ms Witherspoon savors the taste

  trash out her window.
Cal or Reese are just bad for the waste.

Frigid streams melting
Daffodils unfurl in blooms

Sadness
Like the sachet
Of a detained schoolboy
Taunt, tease, thrash, threaten, terrorize
Sadly

Sadly
Sachet full with
Colorful memories
Captivate, caress, convince, cure
Serene

Serene
Sadness gives way
Sachet memories soon
Savors secure, smoothes shines, shields, saves
Smoothly

Missy Sue makes malted milk shakes
and she savors marmalade,
macaroons and snickerdoodles
and sweet souffles she has made.

Sue is messy slicing melons,
strawberries and mangoes too.
Sue munches seeds and celery sticks.
She mixes meats, making stew.

Milk chocolate -mouth-watering,
sweet and marvelously mild -
satisfies Missy Sue
mainly if it is Swiss styled!...

Crimson, cerise, scarlet, and vermilion leaves die as Summer grieves. Without pity, brisk breezes denude the trees, voiding guarantees. Nature savors the essence of Fall's decay; a mushroom gourmet. Mother Earth prepares to spin Winter’s death shroud, no tears are allowed. Crimson, cerise, scarlet, and vermilion leaves disappear like thieves, and Autumn aggrieves.

Flitting ‘mid the subtle hint of fall
lost amid the maple’s camouflage
she floats on iridescent wings
attended by leaves mimic entourage.

Rises o’er the heights of tartan trees
savors the beauty, courts the breeze
last dance to celebrate the day
curtain call, applause, it’s nature’s play.

He walks into the market,
With a rifle in his hands.
An ulterior motive,
That no one understands.

An automatic weapon,
It should come as no surprise.
With fully loaded clip,
Drops people just like flies.

See the blood splattered scene,
A sight we all abhor.
Another fatal shooting,
Limp bodies on the floor.

There's a smile on his face,
As he savors all the dead.
Please do us all a favor,
And shoot yourself instead....

Listen to poem:
An herbaceous arbor
flanks the harbor
where he labors
fitting words to spaces --
blanks he fills, erases.

He savors bits of meaning,
sculpting sound to logic's shape,
annealing word and image,
polishing a verbal mound
congealing on his pad.

A bird chirps.
Song distracts.
A moment's lapse.

He compares the bird's
with his own work,
considers form and content,
sees the gaps,
tosses his dead page
into the water's murk....

Premium Member Surely In My Next Lifetime
I smell the popcorn hours after it has been popped
My mouth savors the smell, but not the taste.
Popcorn is for people who have good gums

I used to chew ice which I loved to do
It caused fissures and cracks in my teeth
Could I stop? Apparently not.

I look at a juicy steak
Wondering if I will ever have the teeth I need
To do one justice again

Surely in my next life time
I will be much more careful with my teeth
And my gums. Right?...

Death Never Quells
Through age and infirmity,
  my voice cries loud

With feelings still timeless,
  eyes not to cloud

The Reaper waits patient,
  his claim has been filed

From outside he savors,
   inside I smile

The music has changed,
with my heart still in step

My vision most clear,
  no lens to correct

As days take their toll,
on what’s left of this shell

What spirit embodies,
 —death never quells
