robins flying south
detour to stop in wet yards--
a quick meal and bath

At rainfall’s end
worms wriggle on sidewalks . . .
robins' emergence

Red roses glisten
in coolness of morning dew
as red robins chirp
The sun peeks over the hill
Warming the crimson petals

leafless wood risers
filling fast as spring arrives~
bluebirds and robins
To set down our phones,
constant companions,
and gaze up at the tree
to watch the robins feed their chicks —
such an exotic request.
Summer breeze, sun shine
Swinging on the garden seat
A Robins sonnet
The school bus arrives out front
Honey, I got some time off
broken wing feathers
drops off fallen robins breast
crushed little birds dead

Blazing evening sun
more ardent than lovers' lips
allows no sad sound
as the bright notes of robins
hate to bring night in

raucous red robins
rocking, rolling, ring refrain ~
redwood ricochet

blue moon
reflects on water
frogs serenade
-----
spring robins
nests in tree
cats dinner
-----
warm breeze
swaying trees
crows chatter
spring explodes with morning glee
soft breeze stirs the willow tree
robins bounce upon green grass
bullfrogs croak - a mystery
engrossed in my book -
the tunes of playful robins
whir of wash-machine
the sunless dawn, spokes
atop oaks, pines and myrtles

robins one by one
enjoy the warmer weather
Spring is in the air
southern birds don’t fear for snow
behind the trees - peek-a-boo

first spring arrivals
robins feast before mating ~
red breasts on the wing
time to build a nest
waiting for blue eggs to hatch ~
chirping mouths to feed
Mud
first sign
of spring thaw
slippery worms
dance with the robins
nestlings calling
the cadence
slow step
squish

Red Robin was busy building his nest
From an orange fluorescent hunter's vest
It was a bright sight,
and to his delight
All the female Robins were so impressed!
The winter sneaked in,
The birds miscalculated.
Puff ball Robins sit;
Their swollen feathery breasts
And full bellies, keep them warm.
two Robins scurry
stop and go across the lawn
worm lunch in their beaks

When I went out this morning,
I heard two robins somewhere singing.
Then, I heard them in a bush;
One said to the other: Shush...
our unhatched babies are laughing.
my neighbours lose all fear for me;
for afternoon tea and poetry
Note:a pair of busy parent robins perched upon my book & pen inspiring this verse this
afternoon
hens and robins warm their eggs
nesting, they cover their legs
these mothers, innate modesty display
values from yesterday ~ for today
Precious golden dove
Robins and Sparrows
As wings fluttering, flowing
I'm so high flying
So high floating
In the skies
Up high for the love of you
a lark song tickles
notes of robins and wrens pique~
the starling teasing

He gave a squawk. She gave a shriek.
He blinked a blink. She winked a wink.
Love in the making on a warm summer’s day.
Flirtation baking as these smitten robins flew away.
~Rare, rival, repugnant robin’s normal, nocturnal nothing nest, rival sparrows noble nest~
