Playing and Praying
Playing and Praying

While a piano had been politely playing,
To God was graciously praying and praying;
My fingers manipulated,
And great song created;
When fingers stopped straying and ricocheting.

Premium Member Without Her
First holidays without her
Nothing but meaningless lights and music
Pointless fuss and chaos
Echoes resonating where his heart once beat
Ricocheting with no rhyme or reason
Chiming in the new year one tear at a time

Premium Member House Cats
How varied in color they are
One after another, a palette
Under house cat code
Some will stay true to their species others get spoiled
Everyone has their own individuality.

Cats never slow down
Are hyperactive comets, ricocheting
Throughout a house
Settling down is forgotten completely....

Premium Member Meeting a Young Lover At the Airport
Summer night pulsing
Streak of jets landing
Sapphire lights winking

Minds ricocheting
Lovers embracing
Cologne, silk caressing

Muscle maneuvering
Luggage uplifting
Strength celebrating

Interstate soaring
Windows, dash, dancing
Jazz and soul rocking

Frequency sampling
Circuits infusing
Earth-force vibrating...

Oh Darling
Oh! Darling
You could have asked
me for
Moon and Aurora
But,
How am I supposed to see through,
your rose tinted glasses?
Embedded within my soul
How am I supposed to break through
this desolation?
Break free from this;
this ricocheting sadness
Don't you understand?
Make a run for it
Before I,
I pull you into the abyss...

Shooting Stars
Muzzle flashes
the stars shoot straight,
no curve balls, they light you up,
you feel the silver bullets
ricocheting inside the elastic walls
of your cringing red dot of a heart.
Low caliber
but they linger,
bounce around just long enough
for you to know
that according to the long arm
of the Universe
you hardly exist at all....

Piece of Heaven
On a soft and turning river
his thoughts are drifting with the flow
current so relaxing
underneath a bright moon glow

Stars reflecting on the water
ricocheting off the surface
he finds a sense of inner peace
the rivers subtle purpose

Imagining an eternity
in the current he pretends
he's found a piece of heaven
hopes the river never ends...

Oh Mind
Crunching, imploding, noisy head
You bother me so
I can't get my mind straight
Knowing what you know

Strangled and constricted
Barely contained sense
Why is it so chaotic
Troubled and tense

Ricocheting and reeling
Self destructive scheming
Whichever way I turn
Internal screaming

Does my brain tell my body
Does my body tell my brain
Why am I in the middle
Of this ridiculous game...

Heartbroken
Healing is nowhere in sight
Echoes of laughter reverberate through an empty chamber
Airtight and sheltered
Reaching your essence
Tearing violently through your mind like eternal pinpricks
Beyond comprehension. The pain
Ricocheting memories feed the seemingly endless cycle
Of why for’s and how come?
Kneeling before the King of the damned
Each broken beat secures the next
Never fully realizing an end....

Contentment
Contentment: Kenny G blowing
“The Moment” in my ears while I
Sit in front of my monitor
Typing these verses, stopping once
In awhile to sip a diet tea
And read an interesting short
Piece from my monthly magazine
Scientific American
Ricocheting sleet off the pane
Made me aware of the weather
Only for a moment, mind you,
Then back again to poking keys.
“The Moment” has timely ended
And so too has my contentment....

What Loving Allah
The sound of throttled fury,
The ricocheting of muffled guns…
Creeds forced down the unpracticed cords,
Swallow or face a close-range shot.

Success from some,
Failure from the others…
Blown skulls and splattered blood,
Take responsibility and bathe
In the bloodied glory…

Now, what use are your creeds?
Tell, which loving Allah is so inclement?
Perhaps he eats human bodies,
I surmise, he could be a carnivore!...

Sailor Constellation
A distant dot
Is the first shot
Ricocheting across the bow
The supply ship
Took
With only boy's for a crew
That sunk into the blue
When the torpedoes struck
And unlike the Titanic
Not a single ship was to come back
Cast into the deep blue sea
The Cocky Watchman sank
Last man standing
On the precipice of a watery abyss
Fallen sailors dwell
Of little consolation
He took 1 final look at presidons constellation...

Unbearable Beauty In White
Unbearable beauty! Can I
ever describe how beautiful
your soul was and is to me?
What hue? Ah, color bountiful
are you, like a rainbow shot through
with spears of light. Color, color!
Rebounding hues ricocheting
everywhere. You are versicolor,
beauty that cannot be contained--
flying, dancing points of light,
the beauty of your spirit free,
the blend of every color, white.

Chaos
Rushing here, there and everywhere,
A mind that leaps canyons and space
Ricocheting, bouncing on rock walls,
Dislocation with turbulent pace.
Scuffing up dust and then zinging,
Off at wild tangents or angles,
Darting, exploding like fireworks,
Neurological barbed wire tangles.
And sometimes, sometimes crave tearing
At the flesh beneath tingling skin,
To rip this man-suit off the mainframe
And extinguish the chaos within....

Blessed
Alone, will stand
With nothing but a heart,
A heart of steel, ricocheting
Off hurt, for I am blessed

The celestial stars may not align
For me, and all hopes may be lost
in the abyss, But I will hold on
For I am blessed

Uprooted and thrown
in the deep woods, naked
with the truth, to the true form
I am blessed

Fighting a battle,
I have you, I have you all
For I am blessed.
I am blessed with you all.

Premium Member Not My Circus
Poems are exploding out of my mind field
Like bullets ricocheting in lots of directions
Once they leave the shoot I have no control

Ideas are bantered about unlikely, unbidden
Un-coaxed, spontaneous out-of-control missiles
The same poems that have been imploding in my dreams

I ask my muse, do you need my help?
She dances and laughs, kicking around ideas
Seriously, I say. Can I do anything?
She smiles at me and I hear
Not your circus, not your monkeys.
I begin to type…....
