 undressed rehearsal;

such sensual blocking;

the present close at hand

Words written
in my mind
erased
~~ rewritten again
Letters
 in my mind
messages
~~ never sent
Thoughts
running wild
fleeting
~~ then gone
So much to say
 poetic words
~~ elude me now....

No Sound
That quiet.
Space emptied.
Filled to the brim.
With Peace.

But filled with the warmth

To Dan Fogelberg
Where do you go
at the end of your dreams
Where do you go
when the daylight moves on

Where do you go
once your voice has run dry
Where do you go
—when tomorrow is gone

Hearts Rewritten
. for public domain

Love stories on our hearts rewritten,
imbued on parchment of those we've smitten
where whose love was laid to ruin and waste,

fibers with woeful letters erased
again and again, thin the paper,
til none remains to print one more story....

This is myi husband!
Not sent by your hands
River, sky, and prayers watched.
Manhattan West viewed test

This is myi husband!
We sing, dance, and dine by rewritten songs, and
Get along not by your hands, but
By thicket, three cords strong.

This is myi husband!

Elimination
i see profane
anarchy in my city
the politicians are desperate
trying to leave the country
that's been starvin like forever
we will not let them leave
history will be rewritten
as we eliminate the evil generation
the product of eurocentrism
and the spirit of capitalism....

The Savior's Dawn
the old tale says,
"when the world turns upside down
the savior returns with a new dawn"

the battles that you once lost
will bury in the past
to be rewritten as win
the pain that you once bore
will shed this time from your skin
and the love that once died
will bloom this time in
a grand return...

Re-Sung
lyrics can be rewritten
songs can be re-sung
from the bottom of your heart
tell me if this is wrong

push against this wall
take my hand and heart
bind this angel's wings
with everything you bring

how do you know if you don't try
look and see what hides inside
I have nothing more to lose
and only love to gain...

Falling
I will remember
 the leaping seas,
 the sloping smile
 of the shore.

As emerging naked,
 the moon lit
 your lines and curves,
 moved, the stone
 of my heart
 cracked

I felt a fear
 that my pages
 were to be rewritten,
 I grasped my breast,
 and the wind charged
 as the sky fell

I will forever remember
 the crack and fall,
 until my eternal kiss...

A peaceful path some may call a rough road,
In succulent scents--they feel a forebode.
Me--I'm only a drowsy dreamer
pitching pebbles at all troubling times.
Searching skies for lovely rainbows,
climbing clouds above mountaintops.
A wistful wayfarer finding my way

Recrudescence
Stuck in a loop,
Staring into space,
Time and time again,
Making the same mistakes...

Soaring one moment,
Crashing the next;
From long conversations
To unanswered texts;

Hourglasses and pendulums,
Keepers of time,
Are stopped and restarted,
The clockwork rewinds;

Stories are rewritten,
Hearts are unfurled,
Memories fade away,
To the beginning I return....

Pencil Without An Eraser
Stuck in reality
Drag me into my fantasy
Unlock me from this truth
Release me into insanity
Hide me away from pain
Attach me down to euphoria
Force me into ignorance
Exhibit my innocence

Infinite pain
Scratched out and rewritten,
denied as a mistake.
Living in reality, realizing my
failures
Tired of being used up and too
experienced.
Just erase me away....

I measured my words carefully
Sweet verses I wanted you to drink
To help you escape your misery
A new beginning awash in pink
Tears in your eyes, I watched you blink

A slight smile a knowing look
I witnessed how your shoulders shook
Your sadness was breaking away
Rewritten pages in your book
Colored words a brand new day

Inspired by Dr. Ram Mehta to try a new form....

Abridged
it happened just as I say it did:

I was ten or sometime after.
late for school,
running uphill

then I stopped running

and walked into an open field
knowing I was nobodies problem.

I left town following a disused railway track
and never turned back

except the ending of this story
has been rewritten by time

for that same day,
like a wet dog
coming in from the rain
I returned....
