Restive meadows, silent stones, shallow graves
~ in words their meanings emerge

Jules - Tet

Jules
Buoyant
Inspired
Sylph in his eyes
Lost in the fog where restive hearts reside
Will she surrender her passionate flame?
It's all he wants
To be named
Whispered
Craved.

Black Noon
The restive wind
weds the surging waves
merging spirits and souls
leching away meekness
spiced with weakness
as the way is paved
for the destruction
that rummages at noon

Premium Member Disciplined Dog-line

In restive response to the nature’s call,
in the disciplined dog-line they all fall.
Not far is the place to pee,
tree never seems to be free.
Leakage curbed canine bladders learn to stall.

Elegy To An Instant

Every now is new
and restless in its unmarked tomb,
though joined by one
magnificent and restive shower
of its fellows, gone and
raining down forever, never
save within this write,
justly celebrated,
loved,
or understood.
     ~

my heart in and out

my heart rises, falls like restive waves
it brings the weight of fears I cannot voice.
joy swells then slips silently away
memories lingers like salt on my skin
i follow its pull, unsure but alive
in its rhythm, I find my steady beat

Muttering

Miranda:
talk to your restive soul,
elementally abstract.

Home –
was minimal comfort,
for the flying birds.

Clock,
to explode today
on your face.

You were eying
the bride,
in turbulent sky.

Who had
brought the moon
at Agave’s feet ?

We would have built

A green gust dancing
amidst the leaves of ferns

In the obscure dawn,
the birds are all restive.

Had we all been
a swarm of unleashed birds

For sure we would have built
a Mediterranean sea

Thousands of wings

Fingers gliding along the sonorous wire
Captive birds inside get restive for the sky
plucking and flicking of fingers then continue
At the still point thousands of wings are free

My mercurial mind

Never at rest, ever restive
like shifting sands of the desert,
my mind is
a labyrinth of quagmires and booby traps,
you step on it
and you’ll either be sucked in
or blown to smithereens…
Going in is a child’s play
Coming out—
     A gauntlet run!

Violent Graveyard

Violent Graveyard

Can you erect a border
'Round things that move
Or enforce some order
To game in the wild grove?

Here, 'restive' life abound
In these many a mound;
Where Hermit faces Mecca
And others, to America!

Masculinity

A restive moon
went on skirmishing with-
   the palm leaves in dark.

         *

   There was no
move to prevent the private
   fleet of homegrown myths.

         *

   Scores of fallen
shoots you will find on the street
   after the violence.

Two circular villas

Two circular villas perched on the bony roots
No coat, no paint, only the scent of the bare skin
Restive camera instinctively released its telelens.
From nowhere, a tornado started wreaking havoc.

Small Flowers

Small flowers
red and blue
bloom and shed
everyday bread _
stroking
fingers on guitar
moody
music-waves
unfold wings
keen on flying
Life begins
another morning _
Two treetops
waving
in morning
wind
two lavish cones
of lily_
hilly scent
nostrils rejoice
legs restive

Premium Member All At Sea

all at sea, my restive heart
waters are calm, but in calmness
   moored
the bounty of a lover's soliloquy
raging torrents bequeath a joy
you ask of beauty's tapestry, guided
yet do I seek
yet do I fold in conjecture
nature's bliss, consuming waves
   please...
   I ask in limerence
and we, ships sail away

The Huntress

Girded loins sway
in restive need of sterile quarry,
lithe star spangled limbs
span the velvet heavens,
silver huntress Diana
unbends slender crescent arms,
looses the gleaming arrow,
unknowing, unerring, the missile
flies to the mark,
unflinching, the prey falters
in fatal ecstasy,
finite pleasure
alloyed with infinite pain.

The Last Lap

Ignorance and fire
now common partners
lying on a restive bed

The night now owns the day
as the day now basks
in opaque blackness

The burnt-out embers
scattered to the wind
now reassembles with kindling flame

Great hopes and dreams
flashing through the phase
now swaggers in as lost sleep and mirages

Restive

Pale candlelight shatters the darkness,
scatters the faint shadows all around

like flickering silhouettes in a stream,
like ripples longing to make a sound.

Tonight, nomadic stirrings push me on
to be away for a while on my own.

Promises, for now, cannot tie me down.
I must go, I walk fastest when I'm alone.

Sleep now baby
As sweet dreams come,
Love knows plenty
In restive sum.

Sleep now dear child
As angels wing,
Breathe with form mild
As feelings string.

Sleep now darling
As rest floods fine,
Stardust and things
In rainbow lines.

Sleep now baby
And grow fine face,
Love is ready
To touch and trace.

Forced Excursion

Dearest Vicar –
Late came the regency bells;
The voice of your acolyte:
The mezzotinted voice of the verger
Rang at last for mass extrusion.

Dearest Vicar –
We all heard the fragile peels:
All the birds of riot
Must disjoin in the new exodus
Of the new testament of single nests?

Dearest Vicar –
Confusion and uncertainty
Reigned in the hovel:
The restive communal nest.

Your Smiles Are Tears Addressed

For every shown interest,
The withdrawn is impressed:
The guy badly suppressed,
His once high feelings repressed...

Your smiles are tears addressed
And spotted frowns redressed:
Unseen wounds cleaned and dressed,
Rumpled face stretched and pressed.

For every shown interest,
Many restive youths rest;
As many soon their best;
You'd one ask "Be my guest!"

In men you show interest,
In them you block protest...

Today I Am Querulous

Today I am
querulous
my foot taps a rhythmless tattoo
my fingers roam unfulfilled

this bolus of undetermined want
slides down my throat,
invertebrate,
lodging in my stomach

dull,
as a faint scratching on a prison wall,
carving out the days

heavy,
as a stone unquarried and uncut,
the sculptor indecisive, reluctant to take up his chisel

some indeterminate
unfixed need
slithers, struggles for expression
through restive eyes

The Promoted Versus the Demoted

Underrated Basil got a promotion
And it caused a commotion
Among luckless names for demotion
All of them restive and voicing the notion
Of An Elevation fathered by emotion…
They shall for the two wrongs raise a motion
Before the cause of their commotion:
A man you could enrapture with perfumed lotion,
That Bribery be distanced from Promotion
And Barefaced Trickery from Demotion.

Also, wages that should all please
And not a single soul displease.

Sleep Vs Work

How can I say I'm ready to work
When with each tick of the clock
On my head sleep will knock?

Making efforts to be productive
Yet nothing to achieve
'Cos the senses are restive.

How can I say I'm good to go
How I wish so though
When sleep rocks me so?

Sleep has come for it's pound of flesh
An idea my body parts relish
'Cos it's lack is making me feel feverish.

But how can I sleep
When in work I'm supposed to be deep?
How I wish from this sleep I can slip!

Premium Member Warm Winter Afternoon

I went back to the meadow today Its call was unmistakably clear I saw two yearlings at play, Then, remarkably, two older deer. Warming bringing a welcomed respite As the animals came out to frolic Before, inevitably, the ground is white And winter meadow will wax bucolic. My walk was pleasant; I shall stay, Reclining there in restive meditation Near yonder knoll the rest of the day Devoid of any unnecessary animation.
