my heart in and out

my heart rises, falls like restive waves
it brings the weight of fears I cannot voice.
joy swells then slips silently away
memories lingers like salt on my skin
i follow its pull, unsure but alive
in its rhythm, I find my steady beat

Experiencing the ebb and flow of life's incongruities; joys and heartbreak, while remaining present and afloat, is a rare blessing. Your words resonate. Robert

Thank you Rowena, I just had a flashback of my time at sea. My heart still rides aqua waves into an amber horizon, only to be silenced in awe at the spectacle of midnight's call! The stars, still in my eyes, much to my surprise! Your pen reminds me of a dream that never seems to end my friend. A Salty Dog for life!

your poem flows so well and is softly engaging with tender tidbits of truth. Well done, Rowena. Have a splendid evening, Sara
